I was blinded by Christmas... laser beams lights
I looked into the projector... and I lost my sight
I made the mistake... of staring into the stream
Of laser beam particles... on Christmas eve

I was blinded by Christmas... and what it's become
A commercialized excuse... just to make a buck
Blinded by rude drivers... and short tempered jerks
Long endless lines... and surly sales clerks

I was blinded by the marketing... the avarice, and the greed
By forty percent off... and Fed-Ex shipping free
By spurious Santa Clauses... claiming to be real
And crass commercialism... and last minute deals

But then I saw the light... shining down on me
My eyes were finally opened... on Christmas eve
I was blind to the meaning... of what Christmas really means
Peace and goodwill... everyday of the year

Aren't we all blind to the joy... the happiness, and the love
All around us, everyday... in each, and everyone
Merry Christmas everybody... all across the land
Peace on Earth... goodwill toward Man
