In the crowd but I'm alone
Lights on but no one's home
Each smile I give, a fragile mask
A silent, and shadowed past
Echoes in my mind so strong
Hoping love will come along
Feeling like I don't belong
Unwanted like a broken song
I reach for hands that never grasp
In empty air my fingers clasp
And though unwanted I may roam
Someday, somewhere, I'll find my home
Perhaps one day, a soul will see
The hidden light that dwells in me
In solitude, I'll find my way
Through night's embrace to break of day
The echoes of my steps resound
Yet no solace, no comfort found
Beneath the stars, cold and far
I trace the lines of every scar
Time trickles by, a weary friend
With no embrace, no love to lend
I search for warmth, for a sign
But in this void, no hand in mine
I reach for hands that never grasp
In empty air my fingers clasp
And though unwanted I may roam
Someday, somewhere, I'll find my home
Perhaps one day, a soul will see
The hidden light that dwells in me
In solitude, I'll find my way
Through night's embrace to break of day
