Kane Brown - Kane Brown Lyrics

Hometown

Oh Mr. Jackson cuts his grass after church on his tractor only after listening to the country countdown
He remembers all the 3 court sessions, giving lessons, never guessing, we go from dive bars to sold out
He just smiles, can't help but grin when he turns that dial on the FM
Here's an old friend, he can't believe it
Ain't that what it's all about, what it's all about, yeah

All I wanna do is make my hometown proud
Make them turn it up loud, roll them windows down
All I wanna do is make my hometown proud
Gonna give them that sound, everybody's talking about
We still the same old, same old southern boys
Still got that same old, same old southern voice
We're singing now
All I wanna do is make my hometown proud
Make my hometown proud, make my hometown proud

All the whining through the years, all the grinding of the gears, all the passion and the tears, man it paid off
All the places that we see, all the people that we meet, it still feels like a dream that we're living off
It ain't the laughs and fame, it ain't the smoking flame
It's that sweet artist smile on my mama's face

All I wanna do is make my hometown proud
Make them turn it up loud, roll them windows down
All I wanna do is make my hometown proud
Gonna give them that sound, everybody's talking about
We still the same old, same old southern boys
Still got that same old, same old southern voice
We're singing now
All I wanna do is make my hometown proud
Make my hometown proud, make my hometown proud

In every song, every way
In every move I've ever made
That's right, North West Georgia, where you all at?
In every song, every way
In every move I've ever made
Chattanooga, Tennessee, turn it up
Come on

All I wanna do is make my hometown proud
Make them turn it up loud, roll them windows down
All I wanna do is make my hometown proud
Gonna give them that sound, everybody's talking about
We still the same old, same old southern boys
Still got that same old, same old southern voice
We're singing now
All I wanna do is make my hometown proud
Make my hometown proud, make my hometown proud

Oh Mr. Jackson cuts his grass after church on his tractor only after listening to the country countdown

What Ifs

[ Featuring Lauren Alaina ]

You say, "What if I hurt you? What if I leave you?
What if I find somebody else and I don't need you?
What if this goes south? What if I mess you up?"
You say, "What if I break your heart in two, then what?"

Well, I hear you, girl, I feel you girl, but not so fast
'Fore you make your mind up, I gotta ask

What if I was made for you and you were made for me?
What if this is it? What if it's meant to be?
What if I ain't one of them fools just playin' some game?
What if I just pull you close? What if I lean in?
And the stars line up and it's our last first kiss
What if one of these days, baby, I go and change your name?
What if I loved all these what ifs away?

What if the sky falls (sky falls) or the sun stops burnin'?
We could worry about them what ifs 'til the world stops turnin'
Or I could kiss you (you should kiss me)
What if you liked it? (Bet I'd like it)
Well, we ain't never gonna know unless we try it

What if I was made for you and you were made for me?
What if this is it? What if it's meant to be?
What if I ain't one of them fools just playin' some game? (Playin' some game)
What if I just pull you close? What if I lean in?
And the stars line up and it's our last first kiss
What if one of these days, baby, I go and change your name?
What if I loved all these what ifs away?

Oh yeah, come on

You say, "What if I hurt you? What if I leave you?
What if I find somebody else and I don't need you?"
Damn

What if I was made for you and you were made for me?
What if this is it? What if it's meant to be?
What if I ain't one of them fools just playin' some game? (Playin' some game)
Yeah, what if I just pull you close? What if I lean in?
And the stars line up and it's our last first kiss
What if one of these days, baby, I go and change your name?
What if I loved all these what ifs away?

Away (away)

Learning

Learning, learning, learning

Learning, learning, learning

When I was six years old, I kinda wet the bed
My stepdad came in and nearly beat me to death
All bruised and broken, I was lonely and scared
My mom, she was working, there was nobody there
My nana showed up, she was super protective
Had a tear in her eye, she saw how I was neglected
The crazy part about it, she's a straight-up detective
But you never would've guessed it, how she'd cook you a breakfast
Three weeks later, she had him locked in a cell
Now I'm seven years old with a story to tell
Sing it

I'm gonna let it go
Forgiveness is something we gotta know
'Cause if you hold on forever, it'll hurt your soul
That's why I'm learning how to let it go
That's why I'm learning how to let it go

Now middle school's here, a new chapter in life
New stepdad, too, made my mama his wife
Got new problems now, like tryna fit in
Getting looked down on just because of your skin
It's bad enough, I can't afford them clothes
Got high water's on with holes in my sole
Now, that's the type of stuff to put a hole in your soul
But, uh, I'm just gonna, uh, I'm just gonna

I'm gonna let it go
Forgiveness is something we gotta know
'Cause if you hold on forever, it'll hurt your soul
That's why I'm learning how to let it go
That's why I'm learning how to let it go

I'm grown up now, I learned enough for a song
Still got some friends, but most of 'em gone
Overdoses or killed by a gun
Breaking into houses, life on the run
Did it for his kid, now he won't be around
Guess the little one's gonna be just like me now
If you're carrying the bitterness around on your shoulders
Then just remember what I told you
Sing it

I'm gonna let it go
Forgiveness is something we gotta know
'Cause if you hold on forever, it'll hurt your soul
That's why I'm learning how to let it go
That's why I'm learning how to let it go
I'm learning how to let it go

Thunder in the Rain

Your lips, your eyes, don't wanna let go
Your skin on mine, I'm losing control
Hear the rumble in your chest
Feel the wind coming off your breath
Your curves ain't slow me down
Ain't nothing gonna stop us now

You're fire, I'm lightning
We're burning at the core
Falling and crashing
Girl, we're a perfect storm
Every time our hearts collide
I can feel our love come alive
It's the same, baby
We're like thunder in the rain

Twisted, tangled like a hurricane
We shake these walls like an earthquake
Hear the rumble in your chest
Feel the wind coming off your breath
Awake, calling out my name
Makes me hard to contain

You're fire, I'm lightning
We're burning at the core
Falling and crashing
Girl, we're the perfect storm
Every time our hearts collide
I can feel our love come alive
It's the same, baby
We're like thunder in the rain
We're like thunder in the rain

You're fire, I'm lightning
We're burning at the core
Falling and crashing
Girl, we're a perfect storm

You're fire, I'm lightning
We're burning at the core
Falling and crashing,
Girl we're a perfect storm
Every time our hearts collide
I can feel our love come alive
It's the same, baby
We're like thunder in the rain

Pull It Off

It could be a black dress, high heels
Ripped up, torn up Lucky Jeans
Or the covers in the morning
Her boyshorts and my favorite tee
Unbuttoned flannel layin' on the floor
Lingerie hangin' out the back of the door
I swear it don't matter what it is

She puts it on like it was made for her
The kind of thing you can't teach or learn
She puts it on on a Friday night
Everything she does, she does just right
It won't take long 'til you can't say no
She walks in, she's gonna steal the show
She puts it on and on and on and on
'Cause she knows she can pull it off
Oh yeah

The way she wears my flatbill way better than me
Got me wanting everything underneath
Those blue eyes lookin' back at me
Looks like that can change everything
I swear

She puts it on like it was made for her
The kind of thing you can't teach or learn
She puts it on on a Friday night
Everything she does, she does just right
It won't take long 'til you can't say no
She walks in, she's gonna steal the show
She puts it on and on and on and on
'Cause she knows she can pull it off
Yes she knows she can pull it off

Unbuttoned flannel layin' on the floor
Lingerie hangin' out the back of the door
I swear it don't matter what it is

She puts it on like it was made for her
The kind of thing you can't teach or learn
She puts it on on a Friday night
Everything she does, she does it right
It won't take long 'til you can't say no
She walks in, she's gonna steal the show
She puts it on and on and on and on
'Cause she knows she can pull it off
Yeah she knows she can pull it off
'Cause she knows she can pull it off
Yeah, she puts it on and on and on and on
'Cause she knows she can pull it off

Cold Spot

A cement building
White cinderblocks
And faded red lips
The sign read "Cold Spot"
He worked behind the counter
To them he was an old man
When my world was crumbling
My grandpa gave me his hand

It was crickets, minnows and kerosene
RC, moon pies and a softball team
Learned about life
Learned about girls
Learned about livin' in this cold, cruel world
It's where you bought your tag for your white-tailed deer
Where the southern baptist bought the most beer
A hole in the wall with holes in the wall
From behind this counter you saw it all
At the Cold Spot

It was cool in July, warm in December
If I live a hundred years
I'll always remember
The song and the hum of that old ceiling fan
And his North Georgia voice saying, "Buddy, you can"
Out here I'm just a kid trying to make a name
I am who I am because he raised Kane selling

Crickets and minnows and kerosene
RC, moon pies and a softball team
Learned about life
Learned about girls
Learned about livin' in this cold, cruel world
It's where you bought your tag for your white-tailed deer
Where the southern baptists bought the most beer
A hole in the wall with holes in the wall
From behind this counter you saw it all
At the Cold Spot
Oh yeah
At the Cold Spot

It was crickets, minnows and kerosene
RC, moon pies and a softball team
Learned about life
Learned about girls
Learned about livin' in this cold, cruel world
It was heaven on earth when my world was hell
And the big stores came and the business failed
But all my memories are alive and well
At the Cold Spot
Oh yeah
At the Cold Spot
Take me back to the Cold Spot

Aint No Stopping Us Now

We'll be road trippin' rollin' with the top down, southbound
Little bikinis and white sand

I can't sleep, gotta leave
The summer sun starting to peek through my window, letting me know
Time's up, it's time that we go
Got a lead foot waiting and a pocket full of cash
Cooler full of beer and a little sun stash
In the back of the car, so relax there ain't a beach to far

We'll be road trippin' rollin' with the top down, southbound
Little bikinis and white sand (hell yeah)
In a tank top gonna let the guns out, all about rockin' that farmers tan
Got the Chev going seventy , all the girls looking heavenly
But ya, kick back and chill out ahead of me
Getting wild, raising hell, and leaving this town
Like there ain't no stopping us now

No tellin', no tellin'
But them lips taste like watermelon
Got a daiquiri kiss, I count when it hits
Makes you wanna get going there
Wherever that is

We'll be road trippin' rollin' with the top down, southbound
Little bikinis and white sand (hell yeah)
In a tank top gonna let the guns out, all about rockin' that farmers tan
Got the Chev going seventy , all the girls looking heavenly
But ya (hey) kick back and chill out ahead of me
Getting wild, raising hell, and leaving this town
Like there ain't no stopping us now

No there ain't no stopping us now
There ain't no stopping us now

We'll be road trippin' rollin' with the top down, southbound
Little bikinis and white sand
In a tank top gonna let the guns out, all about rockin' that farmers tan
Got the Chev going seventy , all the girls looking heavenly
But ya (hey) kick back and chill out ahead of me
Getting wild, raising hell, and leaving this town
Like there ain't no stopping us now

We'll be road trippin' rollin' with the top down, southbound
Little bikinis and white sand (no there ain't no stopping us now)
In a tank top gonna let the guns out, all about rockin' that farmers tan
Got the Chev going seventy , all the girls looking heavenly (no there ain't no stopping us now)

Comeback

Six months passed since we both said goodbye
Never thought that I'd run into you here tonight
And I can't ever think your smile's the same as it was back when I saw you every day
I probably shouldn't say it
What I'm about to say

We could make a comeback if you come back
We were on top of the world people wanted what we had
We could have it again don't you know that
We could make a comeback if you come back

You haven't stopped me yet so I guess I'll keep going on
Oh, and I haven't even deleted your number from my phone
I've been wanting to call you every single day but I couldn't think how to rephrase everything
So just tell me, babe
If you feel the same way

We could make a comeback if you come back
We were on top of the world people wanted what we had
We could have it again don't you know that
We could make a comeback if you come back

We could make a comeback if you just come back

We could make a comeback if you come back
We were on top of the world people wanted what we had
We could have it again don't you know that
We could make a comeback if you come back

Six months passed since we both said goodbye

Rockstars

We take a drive just to sing along
Every word of them Rolling Stones
Stacy's mom had it going on
Lived three doors down I can see her now
Her daughter had a heart that was wild and free
If you blink 182 then you'd miss me and her
Every verse had a story
Yeah, them pocket lighter nights lit up our days of glory

Back when the air guitars were the only sound
And you'd strum the chords and I'd put the pedal down
Two-man dashboard band rollin' through this town
Had that rearview shakin' to the kickdrum beat
Leaning West Coast deep in the bucket seats
All I ever wanted was right there in that car
Back when we were rockstars
Back when we were rockstars

Nothin' like freedom two windows down you singin' along still hear it now
Way too loud and sometimes off key, but just sounding like an angel to me
You'd make fun of how I threw my head, threw my fingers up in the air
Thought I was Kurt Cobain or Jimmy Page
You were side seat center stage

Back when the air guitars were the only sound
And you'd strum the chords and I'd put the pedal down
Two-man dashboard band rollin' through this town
Had that rearview shakin' to the kickdrum beat
Leaning West Coast deep in the bucket seats
All I ever wanted was right there in that car
Back when we were rockstars
Back when we were rockstars

We never ended up on the MTV
Or heard our voices on a CD
But in your eyes and in my arms
We were each other's rockstar

Back when the air guitars were the only sound
And you'd strum the chords and I'd put the pedal down
Two-man dashboard band rollin' through this town
Had that rearview shakin' to the kickdrum beat
Leaning West Coast deep in the bucket seats
All I ever wanted was right there in that car
Back when we were rockstars
Yeah, back when we were rockstars
Back when we were rockstars
You and me were rockstars
Oh yeah

Yeah, we were runnin' all night
Chasing down a dream
Howling at the moon
Baby, you and me

Better Place

Baby, if your dream is forty acres and a house
Porch going all the way around
I'mma buy it
Or if you'd rather see
City lights and a crowd
I'mma move you uptown
It don't matter to me
Nah, it don't girl
Baby, I can see me livin' anywhere with you so

Till the sky falls and the good Lord calls us up
You're the only girl I wanna love
Till I'm pushing up daisies
Wanna stare into your green eyes, baby
Till we're hand-in-hand walking down them streets of gold
Six feet below, you know
I'm gonna make your world a better place
Till we're both in a better place

If all you wanna wear is faded blue jeans and a tee
Oh baby, that's fine with me
You look good in anything
Aw, but girl I swear
If you wanna hit the town in a dress, turn a few heads
I ain't gonna stop you
Baby, I got you, oh

Till the sky falls and the good Lord calls us up
You're the only girl I wanna love
Till I'm pushing up daisies
Wanna stare into your green eyes, baby
Till we're hand-in-hand walking down them streets of gold
Six feet below, you know
I'm gonna make your world a better place
Till we're both in a better place

Every night (every night)
And every day
You're my everything
Till we fade away

Till the sky falls and the good Lord calls us up
You're the only girl I wanna love
Till I'm pushing up daisies
Wanna stare into your green eyes, baby
Till we're hand-in-hand walking down them streets of gold
Six feet below, you know
I'm gonna make your world a better place
Till we're both in a better place

Till we're both in a better place

It's a better place, girl

Granddaddys Chair

I remember you in the rocking chair
I was in my boots and my underwear
Playing rodeo all night long
You used to count till it hit 8 seconds
When you hit 6 is the time you left us
But you're in my heart so I'll never be alone
I know you're watching over me

I hope one day I'll be the man you used to be
Quick to love and slow to anger
No, you never met a stranger
I hope one day when you're looking down on me
I make you smile
I make you proud
I may not be there now
But I hope one day I'll be man enough to be sitting there in my granddaddy's chair

You were 8 track tapes and Conway Twitty
Road trip with Nana to Panama City
Everybody knew she was your girl
You taught me love
You taught me living
Cars and jokes and good catfishing
I gave you hell and you gave me the world
I'm sure missing you right now

I hope one day I'll be the man you used to be
Quick to love and slow to anger
No, you never met a stranger
I hope one day when you're looking down on me
I make you smile
I make you proud
I may not be there now
But I hope one day I'll be man enough to be sitting there in my granddaddy's chair
My granddaddy's chair

Yeah, I hope one day when you're looking down on me
I make you smile
I make you proud
I may not be there now
But I hope one day I'll be man enough to be sitting there in my granddaddy's chair
Oh yeah
In my granddaddy's chair

Rest in peace, I love you granddaddy
