137 - Between Am and Shall Lyrics

137 - Between Am and Shall Lyrics
Official

I can't afford, for this week to end
But I can't stand it lasting any longer
Lord extend, my patience, make me stronger
What I do
Is who I am
And I am
Who I must become
Present state
And past achievements
Do not add up to my sum
Second hand, sprints when I don't look
Crawls when it gets my attention
Lord gave me patience
So I could await His many plans' fruition
The gap between a mic and a wand
Is perception
I was pregnant with ideals
I rejoiced at their conception
After labor, I did mourn
Every stillborn realization
Had to
Wrestle with the concept
That one flesh
Did not mean oneness of identity
And found my purpose
Ultimately, was to, prune the leaves
Not rush the growth
Of bonsai tree
I found, forsooth, that
Fantasy's at apogee
When married to reality
There is an axe for each sequoia
Sling for every giant
Iceberg for Titanic
Stake for each idea
I am
Sadder than yesterday
Happier than tomorrow
I lift my head up in ardent praise
For I won't wallow in sorrow
My heart was drunk with sadness
Unfilled by wines and bitter spirits
Whines and shrieks from darkness
Sobered up by Holy Spirit
I, do not, vent
Solely strategize
Many won't ken the beauty you invent
Until it's televised
Though don't use their blindness
Or their kindness
To incentivize, you
Only Lord, can fulfill
Those who till, till ground's new
Each brushstroke
Used to compose
They must suppose
Dries afore brush even touches the canvas
Climbing requires you rise to occasion
At creation, they do marvel
I convey, "Effort and time will carve marble"
They respond, "It's quite alright if you dawdle"
So long as road is right, I'll go full throttle
Make no mistake
I can't my eat cake, before I bake
To beauty make, one must forsake
To many, work-life balance
Means to build for sake, of them
Consume for self
Sleep, repeat, like workshop elf
364 days
Before the gifts are loaded
In the back of Santa's sleigh
The word "relax" has now begun to sound profane
My sled is my brain
My dendrites are reins
The sky taught the clouds
How they're s'posed to rain
The Lord taught me how
I am supposed to reign
Vision blooms
When watered by decision
Dedication and mettle
Are metal given point by direction
Each swing of me, a tool
Necessitates I keep intention
That is unalloyed
By idol made of work or idle action
Idyllic scene of inferno
Described on both sides of discussion
He will parch and starve thee
So that you recall Spring and Sower
Resurrect thee so others can see
Almighty's mercy and power
