[ Featuring Sam Petchey ]
I once saw a man, a man by the way
Who spun on a wheel a lump of old clay
The clay grew to form, from hands callous and worn, a humble vessel
A tabernacle of clay
From there it became a comfort to all
It gracefully greeted the hungry man's call
But greater by far, my amazement would be
When living water flowed freely to me
In fact, nothing less, I saw by the way
An invalid blind since his very first day
He beckoned to sup, then drank from the cup
And waters of Gilead brought light to his eyes
Another young girl held the wounds on her face
Regret from the past thought she'd fallen from grace
Was yet helped to find a new peace of mind
By love unbroken
How is it I find that same vessel, so kind
Left lying around, thrown down on the ground
He came to give all, heeded the call, brought life to the lifeless
And hope for the day
I once saw a man, a man by the way, who spun on a wheel a lump of old clay
The clay grew to form, from hands callous and worn
A humble vessel
A tabernacle of clay
