[ Featuring The Empty Pockets ]

I'm going to do, uh, quite a long song for you now.
And, um, so, this would be a great time to go to the bathroom
If you insist, ha
An-and this has to do with, um
I supposed it has to do with all the people
That passed through your life as you get older
You can look back on, y'know when you were seventeen
And all the people that you knew
And at twenty-seven you're surrounded by lots of different people
I mean, some friends hopefully last a lifetime but
N-new people keep coming into your life
And then thirty-seven, forty-seven, fifty-seven
It just continues to change

Um, I've known The Pockets for eight years
We've been touring for eight years
But there's a fast expansive time before that
Uh, where all these people kept coming in and out of my life

So this is a song about someone that you knew while growing up
And you see him again, uh, fifteen years later
And he's a completely different person
You know, he'd wandered off to Napal
And, uh, he'd just become a stranger, a total stranger
Uh, and these, these people were close
So, this is about people I think, um, that you were once close to
That you tried to be close to
But they've changed so completely
That um, you don't really recognize them anymore

Which is a shame, 'cause I'm nostalgic and I-
I want to stay in touch with everyone but
You can't do that, so
Ha, good lord
