The Ambrosia Effect - Litquid. (Let Me Be Me) Lyrics

The Ambrosia Effect - Litquid. (Let Me Be Me) Lyrics
Official

Do you wanna be successful or happy
Have money and never be laughing
Or be broke and still smiling
Surrounded by your friends and family
Forget money just let me be happy
But happiness doesn't pay the bills (Too bad)
Do I live the life that I want to
Or do I have to adult for real (I guess)
Just let me, let me be me
Let me, let me be me
Just let me, let me be me
Let me, let me be me
Let me be free let me be me
I wanna travel the world, just let me see
I want all my bills paid, without getting a degree
I know I can put in the time, and get something guaranteed
But I can't nine to five, and still have any peace
I know I gotta grind, it's foremost in my mind
Forecast predicted shine, but I live in Texas
So I've learned to expect the unexpected
Me being depressed doesn't make me desperate (Nope)
All it means is that I can work without getting rest in
Because I want to reach everyone thinks they're the exception
To being missed by the life they left when
Life was too much, should I just hush
No, y'all need to hear even if you have it rough
Try to just push through it, this life can so ruthless
But you can find something that you truly love doing
I think it's better to be happy than successful
Laughter heals when life is too stressful
What makes you smile on the darkest days
Pursuing that will help you find your way
Forget money just let me be happy
Though happy doesn't pay the bills (Too bad)
But if you can turn your interest into an income
You can be happy for real
Just let me, let me be me
Let me, let me be me
Just let me, let me be me
Let me, let me be me
Let me be me let me be free
I've learned that life isn't what it appears to be
Life is what you make it so I make mine like a tree
Growing constantly until it's time for me to leaf
I've been writing poems since I was 4'3
Started writing songs in 2018
Every song released I feel so relieved
I feel lighter every time but I was still too deep
Though I had other people laughing my mind was in a rut
I inflicted self harm though I had never cut
Seemingly bright until the blinds start to shut
And now more and more often I feel, less and less stuck
No longer dragging my feet, but I feel I don't I have to run
I can finally walk without the sorrow in my gut
I still get sad, lonely, and distant sometimes
But recently it seems to be that's before lunchtime
If you're happy you're successful in my perspective
Found the answer I've been looking for like a detective
If your answer isn't the same as mine
Hit me up we'll see what we can find
Forget money put a smile on your face
But still get money and don't let it go to waste
Gather what you need to put your bills in place
And then you can focus on you and be able to say
Just let me, let me be me
Let me, let me be me
Just let me, let me be me
Let me, let me be me
