Ode to North Myrtle Beach
Left the homestead in Ohio
For North Myrtle Beach
Where life is so convenient
With everything in reach
Although I've gotten used to
Humidity and heat
I still can't get over all those
Golf carts on the street
They load'em down with lawn chairs
And fly their little flags
If you get stuck behind one
It can be a real drag
While some will move over
And give you room to pass
The rest won't even realize you're
Right up on their ass
They'll drive'em to a restaurant
They'll drive'em to a bar
They'll take'em grocery shopping
Instead of their car
They'll venture across the highway
To get down to the shore
Over at Food Lion, they
Park right at the door
You can get a rear view mirror
Nearly 3 feet wide
His & Her cup holders
Mounted on the sides
Great big knobby tires and
Shiny alloy wheels, so
Head on down to Carts R' Us
And snag yourself a deal
Then, you can drive it to a restaurant,
You can drive it to a bar
You can take it grocery shopping
Instead of your car
You can venture across the highway
To get down to the shore
Over at Food Lion, they're
Double parked at the door
They're great to pick up pizza
Or just to grab some beer
You can round up all the grandkids
And head down to the pier
They make life so convenient
That much is evident
If you can't afford to own one
They've got'em here for rent
So you can drive one to a restaurant
You can drive one to a bar
You can take one grocery shopping
Instead of your car
You can venture across the highway
To get down to the shore,
Make it all the way to Walmart
They'll let you park in aisle 4
When you're old and decrepit
And they tell you, "You can't drive!"
Just get yourself a golf cart
And continue to thrive
It won't much matter
You can barely see or hear
Cause all you've got to do
Is slip her into gear
Then you can drive her to a restaurant
You can drive her to a bar
You can take her grocery shopping,
Cause you don't own a car
You can venture cross the highway
To get down to the shore
If you take her to Home Depot
Try not to drive right through their door
