Why do I do the stupid things I do
I sleep all day and then I drink till 2
I get involved in things that cause me pain
When trouble blows i'm like a weathervane
I got a little lady and one on the side
Neither one know about the truth I hide
One's a married woman but not to me
I see her everyday about a quarter to three
I get home, just in time
To see my little lady about a half past five
We share a meal and then we hit the bed
And I go see the other one again at ten
Oh
Why do I do the stupid things I do
I sleep all day and then I drink till 2
I get involved in things that cause me pain
When trouble blows i'm like a weathervane
Sitting on a bar stool in some old dive
I ran into a fella who was six-foot-five
He said he didn't like me, I jumped the gun
I hit him in the throat and I thought he was done
A couple minutes later, on the ground
I opened up my eyes to my surprise i'd found
The whole place erupted, what an awful mess
I crawled outside, got in my truck and left
Why do I do the stupid things I do
I sleep all day and then I drink till 2
I get involved in things that cause me pain
When trouble blows i'm like a weathervane
