Bill Thwing - Souls Lyrics

How much of our behavior
Was forecast in the stars?
Were some traits pre-determined
To make us who we are?

Well...Maybe our souls got their assignments
Before they came to earth
Even lost souls were gathered up
To await somebody's birth
Once they knew their destination
Where to give the breath of life
They went to Earth to influence
Wow that person would spend their time

Some souls liked playing music
While in their celestial home
So they went down to Motown
Where soul music is well known
The souls who loved cooking
Were spread out far and wide
Those who inspired soul food
Were especially full of pride

The souls of discretion
Went to counselors who help reach goals
They often met with people
Who liked to bare their souls
The souls who were into ethics
And finding peace of mind
Went into psychologists
Ya' know...the soul-searching kind

How much of our behavior
Was forecast in the stars
Were some traits pre-determined
To make us who we are

Some people wind up happy
With the soul that they got
They even run around saying
Bless my soul... a lot
Some souls who were fond of each other
Agreed to meet on Earth when they could
Like my soul and my dear wife's soul
When we met up, it was...Good

Others weren't so lucky
With the soul that they got
A few of 'em tried to sell their souls
Or tell it to just... "Get Lost
Some souls blew off their assignment
And never made the trip
Like the one meant for "Vladimir Putin
That soul-less Son-of-a
Well,..you know what I mean

So next time you're doing Yoga
Or tryin' to meditate
Thank your soul for coming
If it's a genuinely good Soulmate
But if it's gettin' you in trouble
And you need to get out of a hole
Just say you got unlucky
And were given a Rascal's soul

How much of our behavior
Was forecast in the stars
Were some traits pre-determined
To make us who we are
