Little boy's toys are layin' on the floor
A waitin' for that little boy who don't live here anymore
Old dusty rockin' horse he looks so lonesome too
Waitin' in a nursery all faded in blue
Yesterday little boy was playin' on the floor
With little tin soldiers in a make believe war
Today I saw a big man walk out the door
In a uniform now the little boy don't live here anymore anymore
Just like the old oak tree where the little boy used to play
It has to grow much higher and its leaves must fade away
And life must go on in peace and in war
God watch the little boy he don't live here anymore anymore
