It was a crazy morning you met me on my run and
Told me what was coming down the line
And it's got me thinking about the good times and the bad
That helped to form me in time
We're reading books on how to be good parents hopefully
And honestly it's a little bit scary
But looking back on what I had even through the good and bad
I can see where it all was leading
I'm gonna teach you all I know just like I was taught before
But I hope to stick around to get to know you even more
I want your growing up to be a bit different
I wanna be what I had and what I didn't
Now I know I gotta learn a thing or two
Before I show you how to change your brakes or change your oil too
But I know I'll put the work in cause I want to be a man that can teach you all the things you should do
I wanna teach you all about the way to live your life
How to follow truth wherever it leads you
I know the way ain't easy but I'll show you had to stand firm when they tell you to move
I hope to show you how to love someone like you have been loved
When it isn't easy that's when push comes to shove
