Footpaths unbeaten and pavements so small
Single file walking so we wouldn't fall
Scents of wild garlic, the song of the birds
Moments too precious to put into words
In those days of summer
Drifting wild and free
Taking in God's bounty
Walking from woodland to sea
Stopping to drink somewhere peaceful and still
Lying in grass on the top of a hill
Walking shoreline for miles at a time
The freezing cold cola were better than wine
In those days of summer
Where I loved to be
Close to Mother Nature
Walking from woodland to sea
And when the night-time would descend
We'd sit and drink and wish the day would never end
And in the blink of an eye they had gone
I wanted much more but time had moved on
Here's to the memories, they'll always remain
Maybe one day we can do it again
In those days of summer
Washing over me
In my mind I'm always
Walking from woodland to sea"
