Chris McParland - The Banjo Song Lyrics

The banjo song
My neighbor Joe bought a banjo
From a music shop his playing never stops
He wants to be like Paul McCartanee
Now he's leaning on my sink asking what I think

If your fingers are sore then you can't do more than you can Joe
You practice like you should you're just not very good on the banjo Joe
So he's in next door I can hear him through the wall
He's giving it his best I wish he'd take a rest
When the playing stops it's such a big relief
I sit down for my tea now he's back to play for me

You want to impress and you're playing the best that you can Joe
You're such a nice chap but you are pretty crap on the banjo

I got my curtains drawn in the daytime
Got my telly volume way down low
I'm trying to make you think I'm sick or on holiday or dead
But you still won't leave me alone and so

I'm sleeping less getting very stressed I've used up all my paracetamol
I had to carry through my plan to murder you
And bury you on Mars with your banjo up your arse
You wouldn't admit that you couldn't manage it and be a man Joe
You practiced day and night but you were utter shite on the banjo Joe
