This virus got is stuck in lock Down
While I'm recovering as well
I'm taking it at my pace and Show you the clown is not out
Cold summer
Got you locked up in bed
Got your mind wondering
What's gonna happen
After this all ends
Your landlord stomping on Your feet
Man, I couldn't even afford to Eat
Government never sent that Check
Now I'm feeling a burn when I Catch my breath
I got swabbed the other day
It's come back positive
Work sent me home
Now I'm seekin the ben-ef-it
This is the same story told
All over the world
The same system we said
Could be changed for the best
We were tossed to the side
Our heads need to be checked
Now we can work from home
Less stress, we can bond with Our family and pet's
Nurses, the doctors
Warehouse workers, to Farmers
To shop staff who stay on the Frontline
To blue and white collard Workers who are reinventing
The system we saw as Devine
At the same time
We were told the greatest lie
Like Israel isn't bombin' Palestine
Like our education system is Flawless
But students are learning more From life and discovery
When their bookless
History will look back at us
Maybe we couldve done more
Maybe we should've paid our Nurses more
Maybe we shouldn't HAVE Bailed out bankers
And given the f*ckers a larger Credit score
Maybe the HSE needs an Overhaul
Learn from our mistakes before History repeats itself once more
What am I to know?
I just surround myself in the Teachings of our legacy
What hiphop has always Thought me
That even in a cold summer
We can expect a hot breeze...
