Sittin' alone at the bar
Drinking my fourth beer
Jukebox plays a sweet tune
It echoes through me soft and clear
Catch a glimpse of a girl
Almost knocks me off my stool
Strain my neck to look again
Don't care that I look like a fool
This girl is stunning
I don't think I can catch my breath
Some guy walks up and they kiss
Does he know he's out of his depth
I can impress her
Stomp that guy she's with into the ground
Once she sees my skills
She'll never want him around
My anger's growing
My fists are showing
Nobody's knowing
Where this is going
I wanna wake up with her
Cook her breakfast - Walk in the park
But that guy that's with her
I bet his bite's much less than his bark
He's standing in my way
I don't care what anyone says
If you really want to share that omelet
Sometimes you gotta break a few heads
The time has come and I move in
Move between them to interrupt
He seems surprised
That I would be so brazen and he speaks up
"Hey buddy, step back"
"This girl is taken can't you see?"
I raise my fists up
Now she gets to see the real me
I throw a punch, he dodges
Then he drops into a stance
My next punch he easily sidesteps
To him it's just a dance
I see his elbow
Just before it cracks my jaw
I feel it breaking
This guy's exposing all my flaws
I should back off now
But somehow my brain won't let me quit
My wild punch goes wide
His lands and down I sit
Last thing I think of
Right before I hit the floor
This guy's a pro
Seen him on TV once before
Wake up to beeping
Handcuffed from gurney to wrist
Not new to shackles
But hospitals are not part of my script
My jaw is shattered
Lost teeth, ribs cracked too
Was that a lesson?
I'll be back soon, back in full view
Anger was growing
Fists were showing
I didn't realize
Where it was going
I wanted to wake up with her
Cook her breakfast - Walk in the park
But that guy that's with her
His bite was worse than his bark
Next time I'll just ignore him
I don't care what anyone says
I wanted that omelet
But that guy broke my head
