See begging on the streets?
Where have we all gone wrong
What brings these beggers to this place
Made them leave the home their from?
There are tryers with no arms and legs
Using mouths to paint nice art
And then those other callus individuals
Pushy with a cold hard heart
Scapegoats of society
Drug abusers with no shame
Cast there by authority
So that they can take on all of their blame
Sins and mistakes from them and their mates
Dulled and diminished when poor lives they've finished
Giving them joy at a ball, that the hurt in the dark have their fall
Without food there will be sickness one way or another
From the rain and the cold we all need some cover
A fire in the heart, wearing warm cloths, feeling a heat pumps breeze
Not stumbling about using a shirt cuff for a sneeze
There are many jobs in industry where poison holds a care
Spray painting, Metal coatings, Resins for wood
Fiberglass construction, dangerous dust fills the air
Not everyone can take the strain, destruction rotting the fabric of the brain
For some there just is no way out unless they go on a walk about
Away from the curses slowly killing, praying on anything more life filling
Still that is no reason to badger and demand, from those walking by, whose day was otherwise calm
Welfare is up to society as a whole and a Universal wage can fill that role
At the age of 18 a parcel of land so a Man and a Women can belong and stand with a helping hand
