When I awoke this morning, it came as no surprise
Another bad night's sleep, I wipe the sleep out from my eyes
White walls surround me and the mattress I lay on thin
Memories of my dreams come back, my head begins to spin
Living the life
Of an imprisoned man
Living the life
Of one who's sinned again
Living the lies
I don't know where they end
Living the lies
Another life begins
I'm in shark infested waters, I'm swimming to the shore
I'm just about to make it when my limbs won't work no more
I scream for help but no ones near, the waters turning red
With lightning quickness they attack, my flesh they tear and shred
Dreaming the dreams
From which I can't escape
Dreaming the dreams
Nightmarish forms take shape
Torn at the seams
Insanity draws near
Torn at the seams
Now sleep is my worst fear
Awake and trembling trying not to close my eyes
The fear of dying in my sleep is what keeps me alive
This goes to show there is no God that sits on high
Who would've thought he'd be the one to make your children cry
Living the life
Of an imprisoned man
Living the life
Of one who's sinned again
Living the lies
I don't know where they end
Living the lies
Another life begins
Dreaming the dreams
From which I can't escape
Dreaming the dreams
Nightmarish forms take shape
Torn at the seams
Insanity draws near
Torn at the seams
Now sleep is my worst fear
