Jumping one step forwards
Sliding two feet back
Climbing up that hill of glass
Trying to get back
And I must admit
That I didn't know
How long I had, till my feet went numb
As I rummaged through the snow

Shops they shut up early
And the wind it didn't blow
And all around the cityscape
Was swallowed up in snow
A sheet of white as far
As my eyes could see
Now that's the first time I saw snow

The pale blue sky was crying
Down on me but gently
Dusting flakes upon the ground
And almost blinding me
Men of snow stood upright
Watching as they stood
Whilst the mean kid, looking proud
Knocks them all back down again

Jumping and a-diving
Slipping and a-sliding
Waiting for attacks from
People's games
The city filled with laughter and
White cannonballs were flying
And people were a-gliding
As they rushed on by

I made it back to my fort
And climbed into the warm
Hung up my wet coat
My boots were all soaked through
Took a gaze from my window
To see if it would last
Reflected there for a while
Life's moving way too fast
