Living inside a war machine
Have we counted the cost of our chemistry
Light of the world and kerosene
Setting fire to victims of our tyranny
Given the title refugee
But they're not enough to share in our dream
Not just numbers Human beings
In a foreign land trying to make ends meet
Why do we see them as enemies?
Conditional love in our charity
Building walls to help us sleep
While a child cries out in desperate need
See em
Different colored eyes
Different colored skin
Different sound of tongue
Made in the image
Are we afraid of refugees?
Fleeing from a land of tyranny
Treated like slaves and property
Tied around a tree and left as meat
Why are we afraid of refugees?
Screaming you're below a human being
Celebrate it we parade it
Even though Jesus Christ was refugee
Different colored eyes
Different colored skin
Different sound of tongue
Made in the image
We don't have to wait to die to rest in peace
