Darius Mullin - Practice Lyrics

Darius Mullin - Practice Lyrics

God always comes first so you best get in line
Don't talk trash unless your raps are better than mine
Numb to the haters, I got bigger fish to fry
Like making sure I don't have a log in my eye
Getting to the top is a difficult climb
But I got a great team, so I should do fine
And can't nobody ever throw me off of my grind
Take a peek at my music, I hope you like what you find
I'm going to say whatever comes to my mind
My raps are pretty decent, but not the same kind
You might hear on the radio, YouTube, or TV
I'm not mainstream, and definitely never will be
But that's ok, because it's never been about me
Although I'd love to make some money eventually
From this music because it takes time, you see
Even though I might make it sound easy
I'll never give up the chase, like my first name is Magnus
I'm not even trying, this song is just practice
The fact is, you probably don't even know how to rap this
You missed the point, it's kinda sharp, but not at all like a cactus
If mistakes are whoopsie-daisies then you got a bouquet
And you're calling mayday 'cause you don't know what to say
Don't try to shut me up 'cause I could go on all day
I got my roots sprawled out deep down in the clay
They don't listen to me 'cause they don't know me, but hey
Just watch the force awaken like my only name was Rey
The only way I'm gonna quit is the fall of a nation
I've got these skills man, not like I left them on vacation
If things go by my plan I'll have a pretty good run
Don't get too serious man 'cause it's all in good fun
I know that there's nothing new under the sun
So take a step back and just look at what you've done

I'm going hard on this unconventional beat
But that's ok, 'cause I rhyme unconventionally
They're not used to this unconventional heat
It'll take time, but they'll warm up eventually
Stay away from me if you're fake and you don't even fight it
I don't wanna catch your disease, I call it mainstream-itis
Every track I touch turns to gold, call me king Midas
Even though I'm struggling to fight this senioritis
I'm working towards making my dreams reality
But I still gotta turn in a paper? Really?
But enough about that, let's move on fast
I murder every beat, put the flag at half mast
And if I find a rhyme that I think is pretty nice
Well, you better bet that I might use it twice
My rhymes are pretty hot, you could say they got spice
You'll need some ice to cool you down, but some rice will suffice
Because a grain of rice is small, like an inferior plan
I can't focus on that, like a grainy video cam
I go ham on every jam and I'm chillin' with fam
I record, play it back, and then drop it like BAM
And man, stop asking me if I wrote this myself
Of course I did! Where's the merit in having someone else
Write it for me? That implies that I have no skill
And if I can't write for naught then my raps are worth nil
When a beat hears that I'm coming it starts writing its will
Because you know that when I spit I always aim for the kill
These raps are my children and my brain is their womb
The moment I buy a beat you better bet that it's doomed
Putting every rhyme as deep as Tutankhamen's tomb
I write most of my raps within my bedroom
I'm stunting for IG but keep it as real as can be
Lining up these bars as far as the eye can see
