Your ghost it's still around
Or is that how September makes it seem
I wonder how you've found
The life i've chosen since to lead
I know my day to day
It might not seem much to someone who
Has recently run away
But I wonder how it seems to you
That night I wish we'd left town
And drove until we both came down
And stopped at the waters edge
With no choice left but to rest our heads
I wanted a house instead
You insisted this was our bed
"Anywhere is fine", you said
But i never knew what you meant
Out on the open road
We were looking for our home
Always did a little better alone
But now I don't know where to go
I felt you come in last night
As a draft under the back porch door
Through the kitchen and up one flight
I wonder what you're looking for
I am aware of how this sounds
And you may not know what it is I mean
But your ghost it's still around
Or is that how September makes it seem
