A stone's throw away he retreated
By the gnarled wood of olive trees
At once, He kneels, depleted
Beset by sorrow and suffering
Witnessing the wickedness of man
Degenerates and depravity
Trangressions like grains of sand
Oh Father, can you hear His plea?
The total sin of mankind
Echoes through eternity
Beheld by Jesus Christ
Bore the weight of the agony
In anguish, He prayed as His Son
If you will, let this chalice pass from me
But if I must drink of it, thy will be done
The spirit willing, but the flesh is weak
Seraphic strength sent from heaven above
To comfort Christ in this Agony
Sweat pours like great drops of blood
Sorrowful unto death, stay and watch me
Watch ye, and pray that ye enter
Not into temptation.
The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak
The total sin of mankind
Echoes through eternity
Beheld by Jesus Christ
Bore the weight of the agony
Then he cometh to his disciples, and saith to them:
Sleep ye now and take your rest; behold the hour is at hand
The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Rise, let us go: behold he is at hand that will betray me.
