Back in seventy-nine is when we start our tale
Just north of Gulgong, New South Wales
Winona was the farm of the Seis Family
And young Colin watched his father Harry
Get suckered by something called "New Manure"
But that shit the farm could not endure
Grandpa Seis said "stick to old manure"
He said "At least that shit is pure"
The family debated their various viewpoints
But It turned out to be a moot point
Cuz first technology ran Winona down
Then soon Winona burned to the ground
They tried to rebuild, but the soil was dead
Factory farming went and killed it
But an idea formed in Colin's head
Through the years he worked soil and tilled it
It's too bad the farm burned down
No way to rebound
There's no coming back
From this setback
It's too bad it all burned down down
But things can rebound
There gotta be a coming back
From this setback
Nineteen ninety-three old man Seis is gone
And Harry didn't manage to hang on
And since they passed into his hands
Colin's been trying to work their lands
He feared Winona was gone for good
So Colin did what any of us would
New Manure had him over a barrel
So Colin called his best friend Darryl
Colin and Darryl downed twenty beers
And Darryl helped Colin face his fears
And in the pub that night they changed the world
A revolutionary plan unfurled
Time to rebound, the soil's not dead
Factory farming nearly killed it
But an idea formed in Colin's head
Don't plow soil never till it
Oats and animals hand in hand
Living on the same lands
You can have more sheep grazing
You can have more water holding
Better nutrient cycling
Better biodiversity
Resilience under drought stress
Better yet it costs way less
Worldwide now half a million acres
Colin the ground breaker
Every acre two hundred tons
Of Carbon Sequestration
So let it be not true
That drink is the devil's brew
Cuz after more than twenty beers
May come the best idea
Let it all burn down
Things they can rebound
An idea there's no stopping
Like Colin's pasture cropping
