Dolph Amick - Guitar Lessons for Christmas Lyrics

Dolph Amick - Guitar Lessons for Christmas Lyrics

The ad in the magazine said Be the Life of the Party
And Learn in Just 3 Days
I dreamed of playing Johnny Cash or maybe Purple Haze
I admit I'm no Santana... You got to change my Evil Ways

Please get me guitar lessons for Christmas
I promise that it's all I want this year
The rock star glamour beckoned but it's harder than I reckoned
I'll thank you from the bottom of both of my tin ears

Please teach me a major from a minor
Please help me learn to count to 3 or 4
My music brings no pleasure 'cause each line seems to come out with an extra measure
The damn thing was in tune when I got it from the store

All my boogie rhythms
Have something offbeat with' em
My Hound Dog sounds like Elvis sat on a pup
All my arpeggiations
Sound like fretted flatulation
I tried to play folk music but it just came out folked up

Thank you for the Guns and Roses songbook
I learned twelve songs with just C, D and G
I got one from my brother with Van Halen on the cover
But inside "Farmer in the Dell" was all there was to see
Please teach me a seventh from an eleventh
Please help me not to pick upon my friends
The rock star glamour beckoned but I harmonize in seconds
Cause my fingers don't know where to be or when

My lame attempts at rock
Would put Chuck Berry in shock
My country comes out Home, Home on the Strange
The audience has to wait each time I modulate
Cause I have to use the capo just to make a damn key change...change

Won't someone end my diatonic dilemma
Please someone stop me before I strum again
Each time that I go through it, the audience yells, Don't Do It
I'd like to stop, but I haven't learned the end

Please get me guitar
My Van Halen is ailin
Please get me guitar
My Clapton sounds like Crapton
Please get me guitar
My Segovia will walk all over ya
Please get me guitar lessons this year
