Dreal - Choices (Interlude) Lyrics

Dreal - Choices (Interlude) Lyrics

I killed my mother
With my foul behavior
I may have made her lose her hope
Her hope for me her seed
While I steal her Hope
She instills in ME the will to succeed
Though I am in the street daily cause I want these things on T.V
What is said by society I couldn't have
I gotta eat, I'm hungry!
I mean I do this for my moms who carries this family on her back...

I killed your son
The only one you had to look up to because your man abandoned you
Another statistic...
He was your hope
He was your will to move on
He was why you had faith in God that the streets would not take him
And He would change and BE the difference
But I made Him another statistic
Because I took that shot
In a misguided action
I made a mistake it shouldn't have happened
I watched his eyes fade
Felt his body turn cold
I didn't just kill Him I killed his mother as well

I killed your sister
I made her feel like she was less than with degrading words
Beating her soul
Enslaving her to this game like a rap video
She depicts herself as a bitch a down one at that
Instead of a queen
I made her confused as to what is upstanding
See her brother was shot in cold blood and she was lead astray cause her mother was in a life long
Depression... working mad jobs just to keep a roof overhead
No sleep like the walkin' dead
And you grew up in the same streets your brother tried to keep you away from
Keep studying lil sis
Get those good grades... one day you gonna be somethin'
Then one day... NO on that day he died... Like Travon Martin
And Eric gardner
She lost her motivation
He was a black cop though so you don't understand the problem
You grew up to a time where black lives don't matter
And black women are valued the lowest
And so she does what she can for
Another dollar she getting tired n just wanna do better...

I killed that father, husband, that man
Who was supposed to be there for his wife son and daughter
I killed his courage so he became a coward
He ran cause he was scared he couldn't do enough to provide for his family.
He wasn't ready
He lost his man hood when he became a dead beat
He vowed to change
But the one day he mustered enough courage to come back...
His last vision of his son laid on his back, life no more
It was the day he could never forgive himself for...
As he saw his son's lifeless body
He shed tears for the first time in a long time
He left blaming himself
He could no longer live with himself
So he chose to send a letter in the mail to apologize that he could never make it right
Then he took his life
He was already dead on the inside...

I gave life... I allowed circumstances... I let your life touch and create others... I gave you free will...
You made choices... Are you satisfied with them...
That Mother she used that letter as a form of motivation to leave the life of depression
My sister she began to seek help and use her brothers words to finish her master's and become an activist
My brother he left too soon, but his story lives on through his sister whom he inspired
That father he let life defeat him before he got a second chance
