The auctioneer said how much for this desk
It was old and worn like all the rest
I'll give five dollars said a bold young man
Just Hoping that it would fit in his van
Next day when he was opening a drawer
A very old letter fell to the floor
The envelop read, "To Santa, North Pole"
Couldn't be from his son, only 5 years old
The letter was stained and very old
But the message was clear that the child told
What the letter said was hard to dismiss
It said to share our love this Christmas
He opened the letter all soiled with age
The words that he saw jumped right off the page
Santa, I know you're my very last hope
To help my Mother who can barely cope
She loves my Daddy but he's gone away
Could you bring him home and make him stay
My Mom works hard for very little pay
I don't want toys just Dad Christmas Day
The letter was old so years had passed by
But he held his son not questioning why
And thought of his mother looking on from above
This Christmas his son will get more of his love
The letter was stained and very old
But the message was clear that the child told
What the letter said was hard to dismiss
It said to share our love this Christmas
