Everything slipped from our grasp, even hands would fall
We saw no salvation, hid our tears from all
Believed not in ourselves, knew not our own might
Felt unworthy of life, struggled to earn the right
Begged for mercy, "God, forgive, have grace"
Yet we were the ones who didn't give our own happiness
We didn't gift ourselves love, didn't choose bliss
Denied ourselves the chance for change, a moment's this
We didn't treasure what was priceless
Didn't love what was just perfectness
Failed to see the beauty that was all around
In ourselves and the absolute, trust was not found
But when strength was gone, and the soul ached with pain
And no one came to help, it was our own burden to sustain
No one answered our prayers, just the wind's quiet sigh
Silence, ...emptiness, ...and love nowhere to be found
How so, where is God, who will respond
But in return, only the quiet wind blew on
I beg you, my God, please assist
And suddenly the heart replied
God is you
You are it
