Forrest Frank - Child Of God Album Lyrics

Forrest Frank - Child Of God Lyrics

What living is all about

[Billy Graham]
Doctor Neil Frank
Neil, would you come up here and stand beside me for a moment?

[Dr. Neil Frank]
Several years ago, I came out of church one Sunday morning
Met an airline pilot
He asked me a very simple question
He said, "What are you really doing here?"
I thought for a minute and I said, "Well, we got small children
And we think it's important that they be in Sunday School"
He said, "If there's something here for them
Don't you think there might be something here for you?"
How dare this guy challenge me on what I was doing every morning
But I went home, and after the anger subsided
I became more rational
And if I was honest with you tonight, I'm telling you
I set out to prove that there was no God
So that I could go to the golf course on Sunday morning
And not have my conscience bother me
But one day in frustration
Driving down I-95, going to work
I just looked up and said, "God, I confess that I'm a sinner
If that's what selfishness is, then I'm a sinner"
And you know what happened? Nothing
I didn't see any angels
I didn't hear the Heavenly choir
I didn't have any sense of peace, I just puttered on down the road
Went to work
Got home that night, I'd almost forgot about the incident
And I picked up my Bible, see, I'm still tryna prove there's no God
And somebody messed with my book
Somebody messed with my book
I understood things that I didn't understand the night before
That's right, that's right
It says in the fourth chapter of Second Corinthians
"But there is a veil over the eyes of the unbeliever
That they can not discern the truth"
But it says in the third chapter
When you turn in repentance, that veil is lifted
And that veil was lifted
And I became a new creature in Christ Jesus
And my, you bet there was a change in my life
A change in my value system
A change in my understanding
And certainly a change in my concept of this person of Christ
Have you had your veil lifted tonight?
Let me tell you the great tragedy in modern America
The great tragedy is that many of us have never taken the time
To find out what living is all about
To find out what living's all about
And to answer, maybe
What I consider to be the most important question in life
Is there a God, and if there is, what must I do to be related to Him?
'Preciate the opportunity to share

no longer bound

You came to set us free (You came to set us free)
I am no longer bound (oh, Lord)
You came to set us free
I am no longer bound, oh, Lord

Even in the valley of the shadow of death (yeah)
I can take rest 'cause the living God is living in my chest
Everyday I wake up feeling blessed (feeling blessed)
And even if I don't, I see it as a test (as a test)

'Cause I was lost until You found me
Now I know You're all around me
Nothing I could ever do
Could separate my love from You

You came to set us free (You came to set us free)
I am no longer bound (oh, Lord)
You came to set us free (came to set us free)
I am no longer bound, oh, Lord (yeah, yeah)

Say I'm so thankful You ain't drop me in that pit (hey, now)
Saw my soul inside that famine, said "That's it" (grace now)
You never flake in the cold winter
I just came to ball with the gold winners
Fast forward, turn to a road runner
Spirit caught me, He a go getter
Shared blood, gave me lemonade
On His Cole Bennett, uh (yeah, pick me up)
I was Timmy Turner, always chasing after Vicky, uh
Took me to His fountain
Gave me peace and chose to cleanse me up
Now I'm testifying of Your greatness, this a different love

'Cause it go whoa, oh, oh (uh)
Life been hittin' hard, let's take it slow
Take a walk by the river and let You flow
'Cause, Lord, You are all I ever want
You're all I ever want

'Cause I was lost until You found me
Now I know You're all around me
Nothing I could ever do
Could separate my love from You

You came to set us free
I am no longer bound, oh, Lord
You came to set us free
I am no longer bound

Up!

I was down but now I'm up, yeah
This all God this ain't no luck, yeah
I used to be stuck in that mud, whoa
Yeah, I was down but now I'm up, up, up, up

I was down but now I'm up, yeah
This all God this ain't no luck, yeah
I used to be stuck in that mud, yeah
Yeah, I was down but now I'm up, up, up, up (ayy)
I was down but now I'm

Up like my name Lazarus
Know Satan gon' be mad at this
I had to ask my dad
If it's okay to swing my bat at this
He said, "Boy, if I pitch it, it's out of the park"
Moving so quick, it's like they stuck in park
They see the numbers but I see the heart
Ten thousand hours he spent in the dark
Putting in good work
Even though he didn't even know that it would work
Talk about a man who grew up in woodwork
Do it for the love of it, that's the way it should work, yeah, yeah (yeah, yeah)
I know some people gon' look at me crazy and I'm like for what? (What?)
Man, I was stuck

I was down but now I'm up, yeah (now I'm up)
This all God this ain't no luck, yeah (ain't no luck)
I used to be stuck in that mud, yeah (in the mud)
Yeah, I was down but now I'm up, up, up, up
I was down but now I'm

Down, now I'm up like a seesaw
When I'm on the beat, like an old man's lawn, better keep off
From the ground to the treetops (woo)
Got clouds on my feet like Jack and the Beanstalk
Jumped off quick, went straight into free fall
Cowboy hat and a mic singing, "Yeehaw"
Landed on my feet like a feline
Put 'em back in the seat, like a recline
Ayy, what you mean I'm not worthy?
Did it with a purpose, didn't need a permit
Diggin' from the bottom and I brought it to the surface
Mind your business, not who I worship
Who the little guy making big, big, big moves?
TikTok turned into a tick-tick-tick boom
Yeah, I talk a lot of stuff
Prolly thought it was a bluff
'Til I went and turned it where?

I was down but now I'm up, yeah (up, let's go, whoa)
This all God this ain't no luck, yeah
I used to be stuck in that mud, yeah
Yeah, I was down but now I'm up, up, up, up
I was down but now I'm up

MORE THAN A FEELING

I used to be a blind man
I couldn't see the truth
Stuck in a world of violence
Experienced by You

'Til I walked through that door and I looked on the floor
'Cause Your love was breaking through
Heard You call me by name, now I won't be the same
'Cause I found out something new

You're more than a feeling (feeling)
'Cause I've seen You with my eyes
You're more than a feeling (feeling)
You're the Living Sacrifice
Wherever I go, there You are, always near, never far
Said You'd never leave my side
You're more than a feeling (feeling)
Just tell me what feeling ever saved my life, more than a feeling

I used to go out late nights
I bet they never knew
Hoping to get the same high
That could only come from You

'Til I walked through that door and I looked on the floor
'Cause Your love was breaking through
Heard You call me by name, now I won't be the same
'Cause I found out something new

You're more than a feeling (feeling)
'Cause I've seen You with my eyes
You're more than a feeling (feeling)
You're the Living Sacrifice
Wherever I go, there You are, always near, never far
Said You'd never leave my side
You're more than a feeling (feeling)
Just tell me what feeling ever saved my life, more than a feeling

SAFE AND SOUND

[ Featuring CAIN ]

I know I'm safe and sound in Your love
I know I'm safe and sound in Your love

I go to bed with no alarm set
Your mercy meets me in the morning
The Holy Spirit got me feeling
Like I'm a kid on the weekend

Like oh, ain't it good to know that everything's in Your control
And oh, what a peace of mind
You make everything alright

Something 'bout Your presence makes me feel good (feel good)
Like I don't have to worry 'bout a thing
Even when the wind and waves are rising
I know I'm safe and sound in Your love
I know I'm safe and sound in Your love

Oh, holy vibe and sun and spirit, you deserve the praise (woo)
I was in that water heading for an early grave (yup)
Couldn't catch a breath, sin was on me like a wave (wave)
'Til you took me up now I'm walking on the waves

Like oh, ain't it good to know (good to know)
Everything's in Your control
And oh, what a peace of mind
You make everything alright

Something 'bout Your presence makes me feel good (feel good)
I don't have to worry about a thing (I don't have to worry 'bout a thing)
Even when the wind and waves are rising
I know I'm safe and sound in Your love
I know I'm safe and sound in Your love

I'm saved and free in every way (oh)
Standing on you night and day
I'm safe and sound (I'm safe)
I'm safe and sound
I'm saved and free in every way
Standing on you night and day
I'm safe and sound
I'm safe and sound

Something 'bout Your presence makes me feel good (feel good)
I don't have to worry 'bout a thing
Even when the wind and waves are rising
I know I'm safe and sound in Your love

LIFE IS GOOD

I was in a dark place
Listening to dark days
In a prison of my mind
Stuck inside the fast lane
Always unattaching
'Bout ready to end my time

Until You came and found me
And opened up the truth
That everything around me ('round me)
Was made to worship You (ooh-ooh)

'Cause life is good (it's good)
And it keeps getting better
Why would I be stressed when I know who made the weather?
Good (it's good) and it keeps getting better
Why would I be stressed about some stuff that happens later?
I'm not sad today
Every day with You is like Saturday
It's good (it's good) and it keeps getting better
Why would I be stressed when You work all things together?

If it didn't rain then we'd never see a rainbow
If it weren't for pain, then we'd never would be thankful
We all got our own waves, but we in the same boat

Put your hands up to the sky if someone came and found you (Jesus)
And opened up the truth (you opened up the truth)
That everything around me
Was made to worship You (ooh-ooh)

'Cause life is good (it's good)
And it keeps getting better
Why would I be stressed when I know who made the weather?
Good (it's good) and it keeps getting better
Why would I be stressed about some stuff that happens later?
I'm not sad today
Every day with You is like Saturday
It's good (it's good) and it keeps getting better
Why would I be stressed when You work all things together?

The seasons doesn't get to define me
When I'm defined by You
The situation can't make or break me
When I was made by You
The seasons doesn't get to define me
When I'm defined by You
The situation can't make or break me
When I was made by You

MIRACLE WORKER

[ Featuring Tori Kelly ]

Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh

Oh, lately I feel like I've been on my own
Walking these streets, but they don't feel like home
Trying to fight it, but I just can't seem to break through
Oh, I need some rest and I need a way out
I wish I knew what all this was about
All of these questions just lead me straight back to You

Miracle Worker make me new
I know there's nothing You can't do
I don't know who else to run to
Miracle Worker, I need a miracle soon

Running on empty, at the end of my rope
Never thought I'd be the one losing hope
Put on a smile when I need to be someone else
I'm broken in pieces, lonely inside
But I heard that You save each tear that I cry
I know my help only comes from You

Miracle Worker make me new (You Make me new)
I know there's nothing You can't do (nothing that You cannot do)
I don't know who else to run to
Miracle Worker, I need a miracle soon
I need a miracle

HEY GRANDAD

Your lyrics are always so clever
Hahaha
I enjoy them
Thank you, thank you
So what have you written this new song or so coming out?
Yeah, I'm actually been working on a whole album
I'm calling the project child of God
Is that right?
Yeah, haha
Okay, tell me about it
Well so it, yeah, so it has songs like No Longer Bound
And Good Day and Up, and you know, it has the really exciting songs
It has some more intimate songs
But there's this one detail that's kind of flowing through it
I came across this Billy Graham testimony
Do you remember that?
Is that right, oh absolutely
Do you remember?
That was an exciting time
Do you remember what year that was?
Well, it was when we were in Miami
Uh, it probably been in the eighties sometime
I wonder if I could look it up
I don't know if it, uh yeah
So what did you run, what did you run into on that?
Let's actually see if, oh here we go, 1985
There you go
That is crazy, uh
But you know forty years have passed now
And I'm just curious
How much of that statement is true?
Oh, more so than ever
What is life all about?
What's the purpose of it?
Uh, is it just getting things?
And then they get things and they're not satisfying
And Forrest, not in '92 and '93, and both mom and I
Are not nearly as stable as we used to be
Um, and you look back on your life
And you say, what would I have done different?
And I would tell you I would do more to be related to God
That's the important lesson
And you know we've been up and down
We've, you know I've had good positions
I've had, we've had a major financial security, and
We've been able to do almost anything we wanted to do
And you know when I look back
What did all that mean?
You know I've got a boat that's '99, was '96, it sits here
I don't know whether it'll ever get in the water again
That boat had tremendous memories to it
And I wouldn't trade that for anything
But when you look back
And you think, was that the most important thing that I could have done?
Or should I spend more time, you know
Studying God, and the bible, and-and being more sensitive in that area
And helping others
Well, Forrest there's no question that God has singled you out
To reach out to the younger generation
And I think that that's why God has been really working on you
And it's God anointed
And, but it's got a purpose
It's purpose is to reach that younger generation
And you happen to be that person
Okay, well I am so excited that you called
And gave me an update on what's happening
And just keep us posted

ALL I NEED

[ Featuring Hulvey ]

You're all I need
You're all I need (oh, Lord)
You're all I need
You're all I need (oh, Lord)

Ayy, shine the light at Jesus so it's Him not me that stands out
How could I be stressed today if God said it was planned out?
If Jesus puts me on I'll be alright, don't need a handout
Walking where Your glory shines, I'm calling after ten route
Moving with my brother so it look like Danny Ocean
Put my fam' over the money that's the only quotient
Holy Spirit music, that's the reason that it's potent
Pray the blood of Jesus over You 'cause these opponents
Hoping while that door is open
If you hear my voice I'm praying that the Lord would close it
Satan tryna keep these little boys from being grown men
Jesus is the only way, know some of y'all insulted
And that's a hill that I'ma die on
Find me in that ditch, once I tapped into Your love
Something flipped the switch, used to want a Judas heart
Even with the kiss, and You keep me on the team
Even when I miss

You're all I need
Mm, You're all I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh
You're all I need
You're all I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh
You're all I need
You're all I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh
You're all I need
You're all I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh (Forrest back again, okay)

Ayy, tryna love like Jesus, if you slap me I'ma stand down
Presence in my body, if you catch it, it's a man down
Everywhere You go is where we go, we keep our hands out
Rather pinch some salt than hold the earth, can't take the bland route
Can't breathe without You, I can't sing without You
What's it mean without You? I'm a fiend without You
Your glory always shines, when I let go of mine
I'm a young Heaven's County resident, come and be one
Everybody want a miracle, come and see one
Used to have them dreams of playing ball, going D1
Now I'm just a sheep in the field tryna feed one
Ayy, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, kill my flesh, yeah
Only way to do it when the Spirit in the test, yeah
Only way to do it when I meditate on Yeshua
Only way to do it when my heart is saying yes Lord

You're all I need
You're all I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh (yeah)
'Cause You're all I need
You're all I need, oh (oh, Lord)
You're all I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh
I say You're all I need
You're all I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh
'Cause You're all I need
You're all I need
You're all I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh

All I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh
All I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh
All I need, all I need, all I need, oh-oh

ALWAYS

Wherever you go, wherever you stay
Don't you forget that love is always coming your way
No matter how far, how broken you are
Don't you forget that love is always coming your way, always (Aye, look)

I don't know you but I know you got tension in your neck
Stressed out, too addicted to your phone to go to bed
If that's you then take a breath (Yeah)
Feel these words inside your chest

You are loved, you are chosen, your body isn't broken
For every door that closes, a better one gets opened
You got a light inside, too radiant to hide
If you don't think so let me change your mind

Wherever you go, wherever you stay
Don't you forget that love is always coming your way
No matter how far, how broken you are
Don't you forget that love is always coming your way, always

Yeah, aye
And you ain't got to do a thing to get that love
You don't gotta act nice to get that hug
It don't matter if you stuck inside that mud
The sun still gon' be shining down on us
If you ever felt left out, burdened and weak
I promise that the lie straight from the enemy
Come and fill your mind, body, soul and energy
But do not be deceived 'cause

You are loved, you are chosen, your body isn't broken
For every door that closes, a better one gets opened
You got a light inside, too radiant to hide
If you don't think so let me change your mind

Wherever you go, wherever you stay
Don't you forget that love is always coming your way
No matter how far, how broken you are
Don't you forget that love is always coming your way, always

RICH MAN

Ayy, look
Gas tank is about on E
I bet we can still make it to the beach and back
Not stressing 'bout a salary
'Cause all the best things in life are free in fact

Money never gonna change my worth (no, no)
In the end we all end up dirt (yeah, yeah)
If you ask me how much I earn, I'll tell you

That I'm a rich man
'Cause I got You by my side
Ten million reasons I'm grateful to be alive
I'm a rich man
'Bout wealthy as they come
All just because I woke up with some air in my lungs
So I'm a rich man

(I'm a rich man)
(Mm, yeah, ayy, ayy, ayy)

Fridge 'bout out of groceries
I'll bet we can still make it through the week with that
Not stressing 'bout a calorie (no way)
'Cause I know God feeds all the birds in fact

Money never gonna change my worth (no, no)
In the end, we all end up dirt (yeah, yeah)
If you ask me how much I earn, I'll tell you

Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh

I used to think that I could be fulfilled with the money and the fame (yeah)
'Til I got a little and it all just felt the same (why?)
If I get the world then what did I really gain?
Except a couple faces who don't know my mama's name
If you got some people that love you
Warm breeze around you (yeah)
The good God above you (yeah)
I don't think that we can get much more from life than that (no)
So if you ask me I will state the fact

That I'm a rich man (I'm a rich man)

WELL DONE

[ Featuring Sam Rivera ]

Well done
Ooh, ooh
Well done
Ooh, ooh

I want to hear You say well done
Mmm, well done
I want to hear You say well done
Mmm, well done
I want to hear You say well done (ayy)

Father when I reach the end of time
I pray that You see my eyes and say that You're a friend of mine
All these nights that I've been out of line
I know You forgive it all
But I want to be worthy of the call
Lord, You paid the price
Gave Your only life, living sacrifice
So when I finally meet the Son

I want to hear You say well done (say well done)
Mmm, well done
I want to hear You say well done (say well done)
Mmm, well done
I want to hear You say well done

My only dream is to be, be right (where you are)
Tell me see You what's in me (see what's in my heart)
Spend my days counting minute-by-minute (I'm waiting)
Truly don't deserve Your presence (no, no, no)
'Cause You've been the one, sent your son (greatest sacrifice)
When it was done You was up (gave Your life for mine)
When I think of the day I'm with You (I'm with You)
All I want to hear

I want to hear you say well done (well done)
Mmm, well done
I want to hear you say well done (well done)
Mmm, well done (well done)
I want to hear you say well done (ooh)

Mmm, well done
I want to hear you say well done (well done)
I want to hear you say well done

GOOD DAY

Okay, okay, okay, okay

I'm 'bout to have a good day (good day)
No matter what they say (what they say)
Sun is shining down on me
Birds are singing praise
I'm 'bout to have a good day (good day)
In every single way
The God who made the universe
Knows me by my name
So it's a good day

Baby, in my arms walking through the neighborhood
Living in the present, not woulda shoulda or coulda
I remember back when I was low as a rug
Now I'm standing up look at what my father does

Turning old things new
Grey skies blue
Hear the church saying, "Won't He do it?"
I know He's got my back
That's why I'm singing that

I'm 'bout to have a good day (good day)
No matter what they say (what they say)
Sun is shining down on me
Birds are singing praise
I'm 'bout to have a good day (good day)
In every single way
The God who made the universe
Knows me by my name
So it's a good day (yeah)

It's a good day, mmm no, it's great
Everything I prayed for didn't come in late
I got all I need and I didn't have to wait
Ask me if you love me, you didn't hesitate

Turning old things new
Grey skies blue
Hear the church saying, "Won't He do it?"
I know He's got my back
That's why I'm singing that

I'm 'bout to have a good day (good day)
No matter what they say (no matter what they say)
Sun is shining down on me
Birds are singing praise
I'm 'bout to have a good day (good day)
In every single way
God who made the universe
Knows me by my name
So it's a good day

(Good day)
It's a good day
(Good day)
It's a good day

Letting my body unwind (unwind)
My head is filled with truth
Praisin' God, that's the way I spend my youth

If the clouds come you know what to do
Let the sun shine through

Didn't think I'd make it through those long nights (long nights)
But You never late, You always on time (on time)
Remember when You got me out that?

Angels all around me, hear them sing like, "Oh"

I'll never get used to this
I'll never get used to this
This is how I want to live
Forever we'll be singing like, "Oh"

Walk up out the grave, yeah, I'm alive now
Told the Devil, "Boy you out of time now" (whoa)
The spirit won't leave me on my fire now

NEVER LEFT MY SIDE

Mmm

Even before You saved my life
You saw every teardrop that I cried
Through all of my days and nights
You never left my side
Even when I fell far away
Your love it always stayed the same
Even through all this time
You never left my side

I'm talking 'bout a friend who never leaves
Who's always got my back when I fall to my knees
Who took all of my shame and He called me by name
Oh, Lord, I'll never leave Your side

Now that we met it's history
You set me free, I'm free indeed
What could I ever need?
When You're always by my side

I'm talking 'bout a friend who never leaves
Who's always got my back when I fall to my knees
Who took all of my shame and He called me by name
Oh, Lord, I'll never leave Your side

LIFT MY HANDS

Lord I lift my hands
I give all the praise to You
Everything I am
You gave me the strength to do (aye)

Lord I lift my hands (Lord I lift my hands)
I give all the praise to You (I give all the praise)
This is my response
For making me brand new (aye, aye)

Lord, I can feel Your presence (presence)
Putting all Your peace in me (in me)
Lord, I can feel revival (revival)
Breaking all the captives free

And though it sounds crazy
Man, I used to hate me
'Till I met somebody
Who told me how He made me
How He died to save me
And if you want the same thing
All you gotta do is just say

Lord I lift my hands
I give all the praise to You (yeah yeah)
Everything I am (everything I am)
You gave me the strength to do (yeah You do)

Lord I lift my hands (Lord I lift my hands)
I give all the praise to You (I give all the praise)
This is my response
For making me brand new (aye)

And I can't help that I'm just, I'm just being real
I just walk up to my mic and tell ya how I feel
Y'all think I'm religious, I'm just tryna eat a meal
But I don't live on bread alone, you hear it on my zeal
Down bad (bad) but You got me better
G-O-D that's the best three letters
The way You got me moving I'ma need Rosetta
Keep your head up

Lord I lift my hands (Lord I lift my hands)
I give all the praise to You
Everything I am (everything I am)
You gave me the strength to do

Lord I lift my hands (Lord I lift my hands)
I give all the praise to You
This is my response, oh
This is my response, oh
This is my response
For making me brand new

Oh, what a friend I have in You
You tore the veil to let me through
All of my stains, I've been made new
All just because You wanted to

Open the gates and flood this room
Not even hell can hide from You
I feel the colors start to bloom
Tell me to leave and I'll reach You

CHILD OF GOD

[ Featuring Jonathan Poklunda ]

Child of God, ooh
Child of God, ooh
Child of God, ooh
Child of God, ooh

I have dear friends who've adopted children
And they said the hardest part was filling out the questionnaire
Asking you what kind of challenges you're willing to live with
What kind of disabilities, as the world would call them
You're okay with in a child that you're going to adopt
Like are you okay if they can't walk?
If they're paralyzed, if they're in a wheelchair and you've got to push them
Are you okay if they can't eat and they have a feeding tube?
Are you okay if they have some mental disabilities, they're not able to learn?
Or they're lacking cognitive functions
Their brain's not working as a, a normal brain would
Are those things that you're alright with?
And do you think, "Man, if I don't choose that child who will?
If I say I'm not okay with that
Then what's going to happen to that person, that living being?"
And what I love when I'm thinking about God adopting us
Is that He says I'll take that one
And I'll take the one that's stuck in pornography like a dog to his vomit
He keeps going back to his sin
I'll take her when she's starving herself
I'll take the one who looks in the mirror and hates what she sees
I'll take the person who sits with the razor blade, cutting their arm
I'll take the one who constantly thinks of them self
Walks into a room and wonders what everyone is saying about them or thinking about them
They're enslaved to their insecurity
And the list goes on and on and on and on
There's no disqualifying disability that the Lord turns away
There's no one that God says, "Oh, they're too far gone, I can't save them
Jesus' blood is not enough," that he didn't die for them
Anyone who would trust in the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ
For the forgiveness of sins can be adopted as God's children
We can be his kids, not his slaves
Not his workers, not people who are trying to earn our allowance
Not someone who's trying to earn a wage
But women and men
Who have been adopted by the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth
To be His children to call Him Abba Father

Ooh, child of God
Ooh, oh
Ooh, child of God
Ooh, oh
