I had a dream I was like a cloud, drifting through the sky
Above the land where the golden flowers lie
Not a dream like Coleridge's pleasure dome decree
Instead I saw sunbeams dancing through the trees
Lost in their beauty, it was resplendent to see
Daffodils swaying, in the gentle breeze
A golden sea beneath the spring trees
In their dance, I found my heart at peace
Lost in their beauty, lost in their dancing masterpiece
As William and I walked along the shore, the daffodils appeared in a golden light
Dancing and waving to us in the warm sunlight
We felt the warmth of ten thousand stars comforting our minds
As thousands of daffodils did their dance divine
Daffodils swaying, in the gentle breeze
A golden sea beneath the spring trees
In their dance, I found my heart at peace
Lost in their beauty, lost in their dancing masterpiece
The waves along the beach could not compete
Against the waves of daffodils dancing to their own drumbeat
I watched in silence and saw the poet's glee
For I knew what poetic wealth he would share with you and me
Watching those daffodils dance so free
Daffodils swaying, in the gentle breeze
A golden sea beneath the spring trees
In their dance, I found my heart at peace
Lost in their beauty, lost in their dancing masterpiece
And then my heart with pleasure fills
As William writes his beautiful poem about daffodils
So imagine my delight reading out loud
"I Wandered Lonely As a Cloud'
Daffodils swaying, in the gentle breeze
A golden sea beneath the spring trees
In their dance, I found my heart at peace
Lost in their beauty, lost in their dancing masterpiece
