Little boy blue
Why do you sit in the shade
Waiting for the soft leaves to swallow you up?
The sunshine should warm your skin
And turn you a nice red
Like the other boys
Little boy blue
Paints himself red
One afternoon
But playing with the boys
He stains all their toys a dark hue
They yell at him so
They tell him to go
"You're no good"
So little boy blue go back to the shade
And thinks about borrowing his daddy's blades
When another boy in res sees him there
And tells him that he doesn't have to care
So little boy red is who he is now
Dumped his blue clothes into the lost and found
But little boy blue still craves the shade
Red sleeves over the markings that he's made
Little boy blue
Hiding in the shade
I think the soft leaves have swallowed you up
The sunshine warmed your skin
And turned you a nice red
And now you fit right in with the other boys
