When alone on a lawn chair throne
You ever wonder
Is your house a home?
Too often girl you reach for the phone
Texting a man who can't deserve what you show him
You're not the reason that I penned this poem
But I'm hoping that it mends the woes
Helps you see between the friends and foes
We all feel the blues
So everyone knows '
I can run you through my X's and O's
I can tell you probably how it'll go
Or we can talk about the things that we know
Rather be here in the moment
It frees the soul
I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve
And love girls how birds love the breeze
I know how you are
I know what you need
You're body is a book it takes time to read
In the midst of the human endeavor
Things change
That's the way of the weather
Love
Can have you light as a feather
Or weigh you down like a stone in the river
Choices
Familiar voices
I often wonder why they chase Rolls Royces
I used to think all I needed was love
Maybe that's what comes from up above
Like a pilot I maneuver the clouds
And hide pain of a similar shroud
But that's life that's the sound of the crowd
Look in the mirror
Let em' know that you're proud
I can run you through my X's and O's
I can tell you probably how it'll go
Or we can talk about the things that we know
Rather be here in the moment
It frees the soul
On top of the world
Under the sky
My oh my how time goes by
Better asking how than keep questioning why
What would a smile mean if you never had cried
Set sail with the wind and the tide
Follow the stars let the heavens provide
I'm around if you need to confide
A stormy sea is always gonna subside
Look
I can run you through my X's and O's
I can tell you probably how it'll go
Or we can talk about the things that we know
Rather be here in the moment
It frees the soul
Like stained glass the path life takes us
Depending the angle
Reflection makes us
And even when the challenges shake us
Our strength guarantees nothing ever will break us
I'm not gonna tell ya that I know what's best
If we could see exactly what's next
It wouldn't be a mystery to uncover
Is your closest pain a distant lover?
I can run you through my X's and O's
I can tell you probably how it'll go
Or we can talk about the things that we know
Rather be here in the moment
It frees the soul
