No one likes learning every little detail
It's something in our make up
That I've learned not to trust
So I'll make my own mind up
The hard way if I must
Well I'll assume if she said it then she meant it
I guess she can't help being like that
Can't help acting up
Wants to change and she'd try but
Trying's just so hard
And we all do the same thing, we just hide it
Where no one else can see
It can't just be me
From his own mouth I heard it when he told me
He said his senses are all heightened
Fuse fit to combust
Wonders where the silver line went
After all the clouds cleared up
He said for some social life is like an instinct
But maybe they're just like us
At least that's what they told me
And who am I to judge?
And if you're to be believed, then surely
They all can be too
It can't just be you
We'll all drift to wherever the tide pulls
We don't care much for danger
Don't care for high ground
Just swim to where the current takes us
And wait for the flood to dry out
And you watch them as if they're nothing like you
Standing where they should be sitting
Still until their feet swell up
But are you drinking to pretend you like drinking
Or drinking to pretend you're not drunk?
It's all in the same category
It all warrants our disgust
But it can't just be us
