In the nursery
The toys they surround me
My childhood friends are with me again
They're talking constantly
Wanting to play with me
Me and my make believe friends
The walls are growing higher
There's a spider on my bed
Her creepy crawly hairy legs
Are crawling all over my head
I think she wants to chase me now
Cos she's spinning a fantastic web
And the little seeds of stupid self doubt
Are running all through me like lead
In the nursery
There grew a tall apple tree
I wasn't supposed to pick
And there came a girl
Whose name was Jezebel
She said this apple won't make you feel sick
So I took a bite
And I got a fright
Because I was overcome by desire
So I grabbed her legs and I threw her on the bed
I swear, I swear I nearly set her on fire
Then she looked at me almost innocently
And said "Baby I'm a real hungry liar
Because if you look real close
You'll see you've become my host
You're no trapped in my silky attire"
In the nursery
My life became a fantasy
It should be a very interesting read
So if you happen to chance upon the book
I advise you to take a good look
Cos you'll never see what the other side of life might be
If you don't read
In the nursery
In the nursery
In the nursery
In the nursery
