Insignia - Grow Lyrics

I'm not the man I always wanted to see
My feet are sealed within concrete
And I'm not the man I always wanted to see
I'm going nowhere, the feeling's so bittersweet
I always expected a better outcome in my life
Woke up everyday expecting some newfound strife
This isn't what I meant when I said I wanted to grow up
No no this isn't what I meant when I said I was ready to grow up
The world's a dangerous place, yeah I've heard it all before
When you're a kid you're always yearning for more
And as you get older you begin to realize
The monster's from below your bed begin to grow inside your head
The cancer slowly grows inside, your demise is imminent
But how could this be? As a kid your days were infinite
This isn't what I meant when I was still innocent
No no this isn't what I meant when I was still innocent

No no no I'm not ready to grow
No no no I'm not ready to grow
No no no I'm not ready to grow
No no no I'm not ready to grow

And there's no end in sight
My head's in a constant fright
On top of the world feel the height of it all
But my mind is so low I'm not ready to grow
And there's no end in sight
My head's in a constant fright
On top of the world feel the height of it all
But my mind is so low I'm not ready to grow

Each day goes by faster than the last it's worse when all you do is sit around thinking of the past
I remember running around the backyard in 06, to ten years later looking for a nicotine fix
Been thinking of the past times and the fast times some of them have been the best times making rhymes those past Times really helped me through the bad times I don't think you'll understand those last couple lines
But we've come so far in our lives, coming from early morning drives
Blasting twenty one pilots everyday, it's cliched but I wouldn't have it any other way
Growing up is such a weird feeling, forgetting the rough times and constantly healing
Just to grow into rougher times, just to learn there's no such thing as consistently healing

As a kid I was taught there's a heaven and hell
And whenever you die you'll hear the toll of a bell
But I soon began to realize the hell is inside the mind
And the heaven is eventual happiness to find
As a kid I was taught there's a heaven and hell
And whenever you die you'll hear the toll of a bell
But I soon began to realize the hell is inside the mind
And the heaven is eventual happiness to find

No no no I'm not ready to grow
No no no I'm not ready to grow
No no no I'm not ready to grow
No no no I'm not ready to grow

And there's no end in sight
My head's in a constant fright
On top of the world feel the height of it all
But my mind is so low I'm not ready to grow
And there's no end in sight
My head's in a constant fright
On top of the world feel the height of it all
But my mind is so low I'm not ready to grow
