That is too hard
Don't let them
Don't let them tell you who you are
You've been scarred
I've been too
This ain't the time to talk about the feelings that I've been through all night
So instead imma talk about a story that I've been through
It starts with a little boy that had some issues
He was the coolest in his class
Had too much confidence he made the girls laugh
This was around the time when niggas didn't rap
It was probably grade 6 way back
Way back when the days felt slow
Back when he was having fun before he got old
Cause then grade 7 came and hit him with a toll
He's not sure how it happened he just wanted all the bad feelings to go
But they didn't so this nigga started to act out
Running away from home he didn't even know why he was lashing out
Even the thought of death reached his mind a couple times at this point
Don't even check what's on his iPod at this point
At this point he was angry as f*ck
Looking for any little thing that could fix him up
He used to really try in school but ever since he ain't really give a f*ck
It seemed like everybody else was going up, but this nigga was stuck
But then grade 8 came through
His aunt gave him a laptop and said let's see what you do
He watched a lot of Pewdiepie and lots of RedTube
Eventually a moment came when he was in his mom's room
She said we're going over to your Oma's we're leaving soon
20 minutes later we was in the caravan and vroom
We pulled up to the drive way, I started looking sideways
I heard something on the radio you should have saw my face
96.7 was playing a song called animals by Martin Garrix it was amazing
He told his mom to turn it up that nigga was going crazy
And when the song was over this radio guy started saying that
He started saying that the guy that made that song was 16, 16
Flying round the world already getting all his dreams
Cause at this time it was so hard to believe
He opened up his laptop like right away and googled how to make beats
He stole this software that he found online it was called FL Studio
He started making shitty beats they sounded so terrible
But he was having fun
So all the pain and all the anxiety that he was going through was more bearable
He looked depression in the face and said boy I ain't scared of you
He started making beats for 7 hours straight
And don't forget that at this time he's still only in grade 8
Oh man, grade 9 hit
At this point this nigga felt like he was really flying
He barely had the feelings anymore that he was dying
But than his best friend started smoking weed and said man you should try it
So he tried it, and he can't even lie man that nigga really liked it
But that's when everything came burning down like all the joints that were beside him
Eventually this niggas in his best friends house hiding
Grade 10 comes and this niggas smoking a half an ounce a day
Sitting beside a speaker looking for all the lit songs to play
Playing Lil Wayne and Future with no thoughts up in his brain
It wasn't the weed that was the problem
But he told himself oh well it's just something that can't react well
He started selling all his shit just to get more and thought maybe he should sell
Maybe he could sell more at this time to pay for music
Thank God he didn't do it
Grade 11 came and hit him like a truck
All the friends he used to have he didn't have no more cause he was out of luck
He would just see them in the hallways and all he would say is whats up
It was a really uneventful year man it was really rough
Keep in mind that no one knew that when he was going home a nigga was making songs
Doing every little thing to feel alright cause a nigga was feeling long
His whole life was FL Studio and hitting on the bong
He told himself that everything's gon be alright and somethings gon happen soon so stay strong
Something happened shortly after that in grade 12
He started to snap like every single girl he was bored as hell
And there was this one girl
He took her on a date and asked her out on the first date
He only did it at the time first cause he was thirsty
At first they were getting real flirty on a Thursday
But 4 days later fell in love in the worst way
They basically lived together, did everything together
Rain and shine always by their side right through all the weather
At this time there was never another time where he felt better
He took the girl to prom and he graduated he was way too happy
He was way too happy
He had a lot of friends now and they were in the backseat
This whole towns playing this one song called Her
And they were running up the streams like it was a damn track meet
And a few months later man this nigga gets signed to a motherf*cking label
He gets flown out to L.A with 15k up on the table
And keep in mind he's got a girlfriend that's cuter than some maple
Man it felt just like a dream man it felt just like a fable
When he flew back to Canada it felt like he was in a parallel universe
Started acting like an asshole and gave his girlfriend the one thing in the world that she did not deserve
Started acting like an asshole and made that girl hurt
And I - f*ck give me a sec, alright
All he would do is ignore her and just work
Only time he thought about her was when she threatened to leave
Remember the aunt that gave this boy the laptop
She died cause some health problems she got
His ex was there to help him with a lot
She was the best person in the world
And this boy didn't thank her for shit
She brought him to his doctor he was on a bad trip
He started swallowing pills so he could finally feel again
But he still treated everyone the same so she quit
She was done with all the bullshit that she put up with
Drove up to his house at 10 AM with her best friend
She woke the boy up and the second he was up
She said (inaudible) I can't do this anymore boy I think I fell out of love
He couldn't blame her man he knew it was his fault
This goes out to anyone that has someone they love
Go right all your wrongs man, go fix that stuff
Or one day they won't be there like they once was
Don't let them
Don't let them tell you who you are
You've been scarred
I've been too
You've been scarred
I've been too
You've been scarred
I've been too
