Paradise is a mystery that was somehow locked away
'Cos the truth broke into tiny shapes that would glisten and be praised
So that fools would then be hypnotized and demand the world be saved
Taking roads I've been down that lead to nowhere
But I hear that it's so great
Many prayers to be given signs unanswered without time to use your eyes
Hopes, doubts and fears went down from the top of the world to the bottom of the sea
There is something building inside of you that's different everyday
And your life just might slip through your fingers if you live it all the same
Do the lies of the world beat you up inside when you tell me you're okay?
It's just the earth spinning underneath your feet while the sky's going up in flames
Too many words don't even change one mind and nothing can make up for wasted time
Tall tales of crying rivers mystify as humor floods the sea
I don't remember the good old days when we were younger
And nothing I can say or do will ever bring them any closer
But still, I cling to the memory of a vision I would one day see
If I keep swimming for my life
Or I've sunken til I cannot see at all
