JAB - 3 Friends Lyrics

JAB - 3 Friends Lyrics

Three friends along for the ride
Suitcases filled up with surprise
No telling what might be kept inside
On and on on through the summer rains
Until winter comes again

The driver handles fight or flight
The copilot knows what's wrong or right
The passenger practices being polite
In case these friends are asked to explain
Why their circling circling round again

A triangle even and balanced
Sharp in the corners should someone step out of line
There's a storm that's a brewing
And no one seems able to keep track of time
Three friends locked in a stasis to keep the demons out of reach
Three friends that I remember but I forgot the one that lies underneath

Down the stairs to the basement I hear one thousand familiar songs
Scribbled walls reveal the story of how everything all went wrong
Oh to escape through a hole in the wall
Like some kind of hero mouse
My soul sags with the question
How many friends live in this house

Each pull on the rope opens a door
Into a room on a different floor
An emptiness hovers at its core
Your friends tell you not to go inside
They couldn't stop you if they tried

On and on down the rabbit hole tracing the gravity of your soul
Though you think your just heeding to nature's pull
Your friends say you're feeding your foolish pride
But you're just waiting for worlds to collide

A triangle even and balanced
Sharp in the corners should someone step out of line
There's a storm that's a brewing
And no one seems able to keep track of time
Three friends locked in a stasis to keep the demons out of reach
Three friends that I remember but I forgot the one that lies underneath

Down the stairs to the basement I hear one thousand familiar songs
Scribbled walls reveal the story of how everything all went wrong
Oh to escape through a hole in the wall
Like some kind of hero mouse
My soul sags with the question
How many friends live in this house

The superego, the ego, and the id
The elder, the gentleman, and the kid
Stare down the chasm where I slid
A distant drumming from another time
And the echo of ancient rhymes

Three friends along for the ride
Suitcases filled up with surprise
No telling what might be kept inside
On and on on through the summer rains until winter comes again

A triangle even and balanced
Sharp in the corners should someone step out of line
There's a storm that's a brewing
And no one seems able to keep track of time
Three friends locked in a stasis to keep the demons out of reach
Three friends that I remember but I forgot the one that lies underneath

Down the stairs to the basement I hear one thousand familiar songs
Scribbled walls reveal the story of how everything all went wrong
Oh to escape through a hole in the wall
Like some kind of hero mouse
My soul sags with the question
How many friends live in this house
