I sit out on this porch
Listening to birds cry
Dreaming of when I was young and wild
Like the cars that now race by
I look down at this old body
That my mind occupies
Oh it's wild how the years fly by
I can picture lil' Rosie
Playing in the yard
And the time she climbed to the top of the oak
Fell out and broke her arm
It seems like only yesterday
She left for school and we said goodbye
Oh it's wild how the years fly by
Fly, oh they fly
Like the water in the streams
And the clouds in the sky
Try, oh I try
To slow it all down
But time won't comply
The years seems like months
Oh it's wild how the years fly by
I remember when my daddy
Helped me fix the roof
I learned more in that afternoon
Than I ever learned in school
It's been 33yrs since Daddy died
Oh it's wild how the years fly by
I married my sweetheart
In the summer of '72
I carried her through that front door
Like all men should do
We sit here on this front porch
Wrinkled but with a twinkle in our eye
Oh it's wild how the years fly by
