Jeff - Sunshine Balogna Lyrics

[ Featuring Deb Conrad ]

You know grandpa wasn't famous
He owned a little hardware store
And he didn't solve world hunger
But he fought in the great war

He was quiet as a church mouse
But he had a twinkle in his eye
But when papa came to live with us
It was sunbeams from the sky

Sometimes he'd cook us dinner
Balogna sandwiches was his forte
And he'd cut off all the casing
So they would fry flat where they lay
And I call them Gandpa's sunshine
Because they looked lie little suns
But it paled compared to grandpa's smile
Cookin' supper for - his little ones

He first came to stay with us
When my brother was real sick
And later stayed to live with us
When he was hyper-glycemic

But that didn't stop his cheerfulness
"Today's a blessing!" he would say
And that's how I'll remember him
He brought sunshine - every day

Sometimes he'd cook us dinner
Balogna sandwiches was his forte
And he'd cut off all the casing
So they would fry flat where they lay
And I call them Gandpa's sunshine
Because they looked lie little suns
But it paled compared to grandpa's smile
Cookin' supper for - his little ones
