The streets of hamilton
Defeat this traveller
Her feet can't carry her
And she feels just barely alive
There's never any night time here
Never any rest for a weary soul
Never any room for the weary hopes
Of those who wander down the road
And it comes back around again
Yes it comes back around again
She pleads with the empty streets
"Redeem this wasted evening"
"I don't care how much you need it
I won't show you my secrets"
But she walks all night
She feels all right
Cause deep inside
There's a distant light
And it comes back around again
Yes it comes back around again
And it doesn't matter when
It'll come back in the end
It'll come back in the end
"I'd walk outta the house, and I'd
I'd look at the trees... And smell the flowers, and
And I'd run across the lawn and lie down under a tree and read a book
A book of poems, maybe"
