I met her in an international queue
There wasn't much else to do
I asked her where she was from
She said "Switzerland"
Well she was staying for a week
I don't remember if she was going, or if she'd been
Cause I was only there two nights
I couldn't really sit with her that day
Because her friend was in quite a state
I didn't wanna interrupt, so I just gave her a wave
And walked away
And I wonder if she wrote on my postcard
Before it flew across the sea
Swiss girl from taizé, what are you up to now
And do you ever think of me?
Well after the evening service ends
People stay, and pray, and sing
Sending up a signal, it's a beautiful thing
It's a beautiful thing
She left round midnight
With another wave, and another smile
I stayed a few more hours, and part of me's still there
And I didn't see her after that, but
And I wonder if she wrote on my postcard
Before I flew across the sea
Swiss girl from taizé, what are you up to now
And do you ever think of me?
Do you ever think of me?
