Hill's mother is a pianist from Tokyo who met Hill's father in a funk band in the 1970s. Judith is of both Japanese and African American descent.
In 2009 she was selected as Michael Jackson's duet partner for This Is It;
she practiced for months with the pop star legend up until his death on June 25, 2009.
She made it into the top 8 on season 4
of The Voice.
