Kenny Loggins - Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow Album Lyrics

Kenny Loggins - Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow Lyrics

This Is It

There've been times in my life
I've been wonderin' why
Still, somehow I believed we'd always survive
Now, I'm not so sure
You're waiting here, one good reason to try
But, what more can I say? What's left to provide?

(You think that maybe it's over)
(Only if you want it to be)
Are you gonna wait for a sign, your miracle?
Stand up and fight

(This is it)
Make no mistake where you are
(This is it)
Your back's to the corner
(This is it)
Don't be a fool anymore
(This is it)

The waiting is over, no, don't you run
No way to hide
No time for wonderin' why
It's here, the moment is now, about to decide
Let 'em believe
Leave 'em behind
But keep me near in your heart
Know whatever you do, I'm here by your side

(You said that maybe it is over)
(Not if you don't want it to be)
For once in your life, here's your miracle
Stand up and fight

(This is it)
Make no mistake where you are
(This is it)
You're goin' no further
(This is it)
Until it's over and done

(No one can tell what the future holds)
Oh oh oh oh
(Who makes the choice of how it goes?)
It's not up to me this time
(You know)
Comes a day in every life

(This is it)
Make no mistake where you are
(This is it)
You're goin' no further
(This is it)
Until it's over and done
(This is it)
One way or another
(This is it)
(No one can tell what the future holds)
(This is it)
Your back's to the corner
(This is it)
(You make the choice of how it goes)
(This is it)
The waiting is over
(This is it)
(No one can tell what the future holds)
(This is it)
You're goin' no further
(This is it)

Whenever I Call You "Friend"

Whenever I call you "Friend"
I begin to think I understand
Anywhere we are
You and I have always been
Forever and ever
I see myself within your eyes
And that's all I need to show me why
Everything I do
Always takes me home to you
Forever and ever
Now I know my life has given me more than memories
Day by day, we can see
In every moment there's a reason to carry on

Sweet love's showin' us a heavenly light
Never seen such a beautiful sight
See love glowing on us every night
I know forever we'll be doing it
Sweet love's showin' us a heavenly light
I've never seen such a beautiful sight
See love glowing on us every night
I know forever we'll be doing it

Whenever I call you "Friend"
I believe I've come to understand
Everywhere we are
You and I were meant to be
Forever and ever
I think about the times to come
Knowin' I will be the lucky one
And ever our love will last
I always want to call you "Friend"

Sweet love's showin' us a heavenly light
I've never seen such a beautiful sight
See love glowing on us every night
I know forever we'll be doing it

[Instrumental Interlude]

And now I know my life
Has given me more than memories, day by day
We can see
In every moment there's a reason to carry on

Sweet love's showin' us a heavenly light
Never seen such a beautiful sight
See love glowing on us every night
I know forever we'll be doing it, doing it
Sweet love's showin' us a heavenly light
I've never seen such a beautiful sight
See love glowing on us every night
I know forever we'll be doin' it, doin' it, doin' it
Sweet love, sweet love
You're the glowin' light in my life
Source of pride in my life

Footloose

Been working so hard
I'm punching my card
Eight hours for what?
Oh, tell me what I got
I've got this feeling
That time's just holding me down
I'll hit the ceiling
Or else I'll tear up this town

So now I gotta cut loose
Footloose, kick off the Sunday shoes
Please, Louise, pull me off of my knees
Jack, get back, come on before we crack
Lose your blues, everybody cut footloose

You're playing so cool, obeying every rule
Deep way down in your heart
You're burning, yearning for the some, somebody to tell you
That life ain't passing you by
I'm trying to tell you
It will if you don't even try

You'll get by if you'd only cut loose
Footloose, kick off the Sunday shoes
Ooh-wee, Marie, shake it, shake it for me
Woah, Milo come on, come on, let's go
Lose your blues, everybody cut footloose

Yeah, ooh-oh-oh
(Cut footloose)
Ooh-oh-oh
(Cut footloose)
Yeah, ooh-oh-oh
(Cut footloose)
(Ooh)
(First) you got to turn me around
(Second) and put your feet on the ground
(Third) gotta take the hold of all

I'm turning loose, footloose, kick off the Sunday shoes
Please, Louise, pull me off of my knees
Jack, get back, come on before we crack
Lose your blues (blues, yeah), everybody cut footloose

Footloose, footloose
Footloose, kick off the Sunday shoes (c'mon, girl)
Please, Louise, pull me off of my knees (ohh)
Jack, get back, come on before we crack (c'mon, whoa, now)
Lose your blues, everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody, everybody cut footloose

Heart To Heart

You ain't crazy
I ain't gonna lie anymore
What you're feelin'
There's a reason for
I wanna do right
Oh, I gotta do right
Do I love you
Oh, you know I've tried
But what you're after
You can't find in my eyes
I wanna do right
Hmm, hmm, hmm, horns

Darlin'
Tell the truth
Don't turn away
This is our last chance
To touch each others heart
Does anything last forever
I don't know
Maybe we're near the end
(So come and tell me)
So darlin'
Oh, how can we go on together
Now that we've grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart

One by one
We're collecting lies
When you can't give love
You give alibis
Now I'm gonna do right
This time I gotta do right
I don't wanna leave
I don't wanna say good-bye
Sooner or later
Honey, there comes a time
Tomorrow, when you gotta do right
Come on home

Darlin'
Tell the truth
Don't turn away
From this one last chance
To touch each others heart
Does anything last forever
I don't know
Maybe we're near the end
(So come and tell me)
So Darlin'
Oh, how can we go on together
Now that we've grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart
(Why are you so torn apart)
I need a little more lovin' in my heart
(People say that love will grow)
So how was I to know
Love that's come through years and years
Can't find a way back home
Anymore

[Instrumental Interlude]

Darlin'
Tell the truth
Don't turn away
This is our last chance
To touch each others heart
Does anything last forever
I don't know
But maybe we're near the end
So darlin' tell me
Oh, how can we go on together
Now that we've grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart
Does anything last forever
I don't know
But maybe we're near the end
So darlin' tell me
Oh, how can we go on together
Now that we've grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart

Danger Zone

[Top Gun Soundtrack]

Revvin' up your engine
Listen to her howlin' roar
Metal under tension
Beggin' you to touch and go

Highway to the Danger Zone
Ride into the Danger Zone

Headin' into twilight
Spreadin' out her wings tonight
She got you jumpin' off the track
And shovin' into overdrive

Highway to the Danger Zone
I'll take you
Right into the Danger Zone

You'll never say hello to you
Until you get it on the red line overload
You'll never know what you can do
Until you get it up as high as you can go
Out along the edges
Always where I burn to be
The further on the edge
The hotter the intensity

Highway to the Danger Zone
Gonna take you
Right into the Danger Zone
Highway to the Danger Zone

Meet Me Half Way

In a lifetime
Made of memories
I believe
In destiny

Every moment returns again in time
When I've got the future on my mind
Know that you'll be the only one

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Out where the world belongs
To only you and I

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Make this a new beginning of another life

In a lifetime
There is only love
Reaching for the lonely one

We are stronger when we are given love
When we put emotions on the line
Know that we are the timeless ones

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Out where the world belongs
To only you and I

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Make this a new beginning of another life

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Out where the world belongs
To only you and I

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Make this a new beginning of another life

I'm Alright

I'm alright
Nobody worry 'bout me
Why you got to gimme a fight?
Can't you just let it be?

I'm alright
Don't nobody worry 'bout me
You got to gimme a fight
Why don't you just let me be

Do what you like,
Doing it nat'rally
But if it's too easy
They're gonna disagree

It's your life
And isn't it a mystery
If it's nobody's bus'ness
It's everybody's game

Gotta catch you later
No, no, cannonball it right away

Some Cinderella kid
Get it up and get you a job
(Dip dip dip dip dip dip dip dip)

I'm alright
Nobody worry 'bout me
Why you got to gimme a fight?
Can't you just let it be?

I'm alright
Don't nobody worry 'bout me
You got to gimme a fight
Why don't you just let me be

Who do you want?
Who you be today?
And who is it really
Makin' up your mind?

You wanna listen to the man?
Pay attention to the magistrate
And while I got you in the mood
Listen to your

Own heart beatin'
Own heart beatin'
Own heart beatin'
Own heart beatin'

Don't it get you movin'
It make me feel good

Wow, Cinderella kid
Then give it up and give it the job
(dip dip dip dip dip dip dip dip)
(Boom, boom, boom, boom)

I'm alright
Nobody worry 'bout me
Why you got to gimme a fight?
Can't you just let it be?

I'm alright
Don't nobody worry 'bout me
You got to gimme a fight
Why don't you just let me be

I'm alright
Nobody worry 'bout me
Why you got to gimme a fight?
Can't you just let it be?

I'm alright
I'm alright
Just let me be

Return To Pooh Corner

Christopher Robin and I walked along
Under branches lit up by the moon
Posing our questions to Owl and Eeyore
As our days disappeared all too soon
But I've wandered much further today than I should
And I can't seem to find my way back to the Wood

So help me if you can
I've got to get back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
You'd be surprised
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh

Winnie the Pooh doesn't know what to do
Got a honey jar stuck on his nose
He came to me asking help and advice
From here no one knows where he goes
So I sent him to ask of the Owl if he's there
How to loosen a jar from the nose of a bear

Help me if you can
I've got to get back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
You'd be surprised
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh

It's hard to explain how a few precious things
Seem to follow throughout all our lives
After all's said and done I was watching my son
Sleeping there with my bear by his side
So I tucked him in, I kissed him and as I was going
I swear that the old bear whispered "Boy welcome home"

Believe me if you can
I've finally come back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
What do you know
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin
Back to the ways of Christopher Robin
Back to the days of Pooh

Dont Fight It

Live long enough you're bound to find
Moonshine'll make a man go blind
Never can tell what the brew will do
But there's times you'll wind up feelin so fine

Some women seem to have a knack
They'll turn you on and leave you flat
Never can tell who's playin for keeps
So tell me now what's holding you back
I know your heart can take it

Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
It'll do your heart so good
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
It'll only do you good

Don't fight it'll do your heart so good
Do what mama do
Do what daddy do
When you gonna make up your mind
You can run but love will find you
Ready or not here it comes

Some people when they hear a groove
Shake their heads cause they just can't approve
Well I turn up the music till it's shakin the sky
Is everybody ready to move

There's times you wanna shake yourself
There's nights you wanna yell for help
You can fly when you're standing still
N there's nothing wrong with raising some hell
Tonight we're gonna raise it

Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it

Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it'll do your heart so good
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it
Don't fight it

Forever

Now, while we're here alone
And all is said and done
Now I can let you know
Because of all you've shown
I've grown enough to tell you
You'll always be inside of me
How many roads have gone by
So many words left unspoken
I needed to be by your side
If only to hold you

Forever in my heart
Forever we will be
And even when I'm gone
You'll be here in me
Forever

Once, I dreamed that you were gone
I cried out trying to find you
I begged the dream to fade away
And please awaken me
But night took a hold of my heart
And left me with no one to follow
The love that I lost to the dark
I'll always remember

Forever in my heart
Forever we will be
And know that when I'm gone
You'll be here in me

Forever in my heart
You always thought I'd be
I'd be yours
Forever....

Conviction Of The Heart

Where are the dreams that we once had?
This is the time to bring them back.
What were the promises caught on the tips of our tongues?
Do we forget or forgive?
There's a whole other life waiting to be lived when...
One day we're brave enough
To talk with Conviction of the Heart.
And down your streets I've walked alone,
As if my feet were not my own
Such is the path I chose, doors I have opened and closed
I'm tired of living this life,
Fooling myself, believing we're right, when...
I've never given love
With any Conviction of the Heart
One with the earth, with the sky
One with everything in life
I believe we'll survive
If we only try...
How long must we wait to change
This world bound in chains that we live in
To know what it is to forgive,
And be forgiven?
It's been too many years of taking now.
Isn't it time to stop somehow?
Air that's too angry to breathe, water our children can't drink
You've heard it hundreds of times
You say your aware, believe, and you care, but...
Do you care enough
To talk with Conviction of the Heart?

The Real Thing

Amanda, I know what you're thinking,
You and I have much to say,
And you've been making you crazy,
Trying to understand
But it's impossible at your age.

I know I said I'll always try,
But you're going to bed alone again tonight,
And you lie there in the dark and wonder why.

I did it for you, and the boys,
Because love should teach you joy,
And not the imitation,
That your mama and daddy tried to show you.
I did it for you, and for me,
And because I still believe,
There's only one thing,
You can never give up,
Or ever compromise on,
And that's the Real Thing you need in love.

You're so afraid your life is over,
And nothing I can say can change your mind.
How can anybody be so selfish,
And treat you all so cruel,
Go on and scream at me and cry
I'll always hold you in my soul,
And I'm never going to leave you all alone
But your daddy doesn't live here anymore.

I did it for you, and the boys,
Because love should teach you joy,
And not the imitation,
That your mama and daddy tried to show you.
I did it for you, and for me,
And because I still believe,
There's only one thing,
That you can never give up,
Never compromise on,
And that's the real thing you need in love.

Everybody's got a boat upon the ocean,
Not everybody's sailing out to sea,
And is there someone there for me?
I'm ready to believe.

I did it for you, and the boys,
Because love should teach you joy,
And not the imitation,
That your mama and daddy tried to show you.
I did it for you, and for me,
And because I still believe,
There's only one thing,
That you can never give up,
Never compromise on,
And that's the real thing you need in love.

For The First Time

[One Fine Day Soundtrack]

Are those your eyes, is that your smile
I've been lookin at you forever
But I never saw you before
Are these your hands holdin' mine
Now I wonder how I could of been so blind

For the first time I am looking in your eyes
For the first time I'm seein' who you are
I can't believe how much I see
When you're lookin back at me
Now I understand why love is...
Love is... for the first time...

Can this be real, can this be true
Am I the person I was this morning
And are you the same you
It's all so strange how can it be
All along this love was right in front of me

For the first time I am looking in your eyes
For the first time I'm seein who you are
I can't believe how much I see
When you're lookin back at me
Now I understand why love is...
Love is... for the first time...

Such a long time ago
I had given up on findin' this emotion..ever again
But you live with me now
Yes I've found you some how
And I've never been so sure

And for the first time I am looking in your eyes
For the first time I'm seein' who you are
Can't believe how much I see
When you're lookin back at me
Now I understand why love is...
Love is... for the first time...

Celebrate Me Home

Home for the holidays,
I believe I've missed each and every face,
Come on and play my music,
Let's turn on every love light in the place

It's time I found myself,
Totally surrounded in your circles
Whoa, my friends

Please, celebrate me home,
Give me a number,
Please, celebrate me home
Play me one more song,
That I'll always remember,
And I can recall,
Whenever I find myself too all alone,
I can sing me home.

Uneasy highway,
Traveling where the Westerly winds can fly,
Somebody tried to tell me,
But the man forgot to tell me why,

I gotta count on being gone,
Come on home, come on daddy,
Be what you want from me,
I'm this strong, I'll be weak

Please, celebrate me home,
Give me a number,
Please, celebrate me home
Play me one more song,
That I'll always remember,
I can recall,
Whenever I find myself too all alone,
I can make believe I've never gone,
I never know where I belong,
Sing me home.

Please, celebrate me home,
Give me a number,
Please, celebrate me home
Play me one more song, y'all

Celebrate, celebrate
Celebrate, celebrate
Celebrate, celebrate
Celebrate me home

Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
Well I'm finally here,
But I'm bound to roam,
Come on celebrate me home
Well I'm finally here,
But I'm bound to roam,
Come on celebrate me home
Well I'm finally here,
But I'm bound to roam,
Come on celebrate me home
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home.

The Rest Of Your Life

Walkin' on my own,
Absolutely free,
Solitary life,
The only life for me,
Midnight caf',
Dinner alone,
Independent heart,
Is all I've ever known,

Oh I believe,
I had no one to lose,
And nobody fooled but me

Fire in the storm,
Rainbow in the night,
Lightning on the sea,
Heaven in your eyes,
Never before,
The magic of night,
It happened in my arms,
Right before my eyes

Oh, now I believe,
There's a god watching over me,
From up here, I can see the rest of my life,
It's got directions starting over,
So hold me, it's destiny,
Cause from tonight I know,
You know the rest of your life is mine,
How long can I be this sure,
Only for the rest of your life.

Self-assured before,
Had it figured out,
All I didn't know,
Is what it's all about,
You walked into my world,
Then it came alive
I never knew before,
Why I survived.

Oh, now I believe,
There's a god watching over me,
From up here, I can see the rest of my life,
You're giving me directions starting over,
So hold me, it's destiny,
Cause from tonight I know,
You know the rest of your life is mine,

Whoa, oh whoa,
Whoa, I know it's over,
The past is over, ooh yeah
You can't go back to sleep,
Once you've seen what you have seen
And know what you know about love.

Over
Hold me, it's destiny,
And from tonight I know,
You know the rest of your life is mine,
How long can I be this sure,
Only for the rest of your life.
