I took the plane to the train
Traveled five thousand miles
Somehow ended up in Panama
Where the world is greener than you've ever dreamed
And life's lived in the trees
And the air is cleaner and you take it in
And detoxify your soul
I took the plane and the train
Searching for an escape
But I found something more
I stayed up all night
Not because of the scorching heat
But because I feared
That if I closed my eyes it all would disappear
But then I opened them wide
And I'm still here
I went through pain after pain
Until I was way past gone
Sick and tired and so far from home
Praying every single day to make it back
And be where I'm supposed to be
I went from coughing out lungs to dying in heat
Living life with people strong as can be
I went through pain after pain
In such a beautiful place
But I took home so much more
And now I stay up all night
Even through the comfort here
Because I fear that it was all a dream
That I'll forget it all
In the morning light
With the coming dawn
One of these lives is a memory
And the other was a dream
The other was just a dream
