Lemon-Scented Justice - Advance and Retreat Lyrics

Lemon-Scented Justice - Advance and Retreat Lyrics
Official

Sometimes pride can lead us into pain when pain is needless
So we need to learn to listen to the ones who truly need us
And sacrifice our pride, just cut it off and let it die
Let it flow under the bridge
Fionn woke up one morning and he knew it'd be the morning
That he'd travel off to Scotland, disregarding Oonagh's warning
So he tightened up his laces and he left without a trace
And he headed for the bridge
He didn't really have a plan, but he knew he had to take a stand
To protect his wife, his life, and his sacred Irish land
Fionn turned and looked back home, but his resolution never roamed
He ran across the bridge
As he reached the Scottish coast, he looked as if he'd seen a ghost
He saw a figure with his back turned who was twice his size almost
His blood began to freeze as the giant picked his teeth with trees
And Fionn ran back across the bridge
As the waves were crashing down, he couldn't bear to look around
For he thought he heard that massive giant's god-forsaken sound
With his homeland well in view, he tripped and lost his shoe
And he left it on the bridge
