Silence
As the snow falls from the grey sky
The world becomes
Robed in white
The trees are laden
Their branches heavy
As my heart with sorrow
Stars
Behind the clouds long hidden
In a storm serene, I find no peace
You know it eats me
Like acid rain on limestone
To think about the times we shared
I recall
That rose I gave to you
A simple sign
That the way I felt was true
I could drown
In its brilliant crimson hue
But that's all behind me now
A flower
A rose is a curious object
A thing of beauty wrapped in thorns
Nature's own form of irony
To be loved from afar
A love that stings you
I recall
That rose I gave to you
A simple sign
That the way I felt was true
I could drown
In its brilliant crimson hue
But you're just a memory now
In the winter
Snow falls on the rose
Scarlet petals
Marred with blight
Lost in snow it shrivels
As red fades into white
