Well now it's Christmas Eve
Santa's almost here
I've left some cookies out
And carrots for the reindeer
The decorations are aglow
And all the window sills are
Sprayed with fake snow
Teeth are brushed
I've got my PJs on
I can hardly wait
And since it's Christmas Eve
I'm allowed to stay up late

I wonder what
Santa's gonna bring me
I wonder how he'll fit
Down our chimney?
I want to jump around
Instead of sleep
I'm counting kangaroos
Instead of sheep

With his wonderful load

Well when I woke today
What a scene
The snacks we left were gone
And Santa had been
There was a pile of goodies
Underneath the tree
I took a peek and saw
A big one there for me!
And then came the worst bit
The long and boring wait
'Cos I'm not allowed to
Wake my parents up
Until half past eight!

So then at church we sang
'While Shepherds Washed Their Socks'
We said a prayer and put
Some money in the box
And then I ate so much
That I could hardly move
But now the sugar's kicked in
And I am in the groove
I'm gonna have some fun
I'm gonna make some noise
I've got a whole lounge room
Full of brand new toys

Do the scooter! Do the skateboard! Do the Lego!

Then in the afternoon
The beach is where it's at
We play a game of cricket
With my brand new bat
Another swim and then
We all have fish and chips
And it's so salty that
I get wrinkly lips
The sun slips slowly
'Neath the gold horizon
It's cooling off now
The silver moon is rising

We make a sandman
Then I climb under the rug
To cuddle with my mum
Where it's sandy but it's snug
Then on the drive back home
We take a little trip
To see the Christmas lights
But my head begins to slip
I really want to see them
'Cos they're sparkly and bright
But Dad says it's ok
We'll go tomorrow night

And after Boxing Day
