Liminal Cinema - King's Keep Lyrics
Official

Far beyond ye old misty pines
Ruled a lord who had lost his damn mind
Left a trail of flame in his wake
Lost to time he had sealed his dark fate
Our hamlet 'neath the city is peaceful
Our land flourished, for our unity as people
Back and forth, trade routes each week
Unto the city of the rotten King's keep
One cold eve, guards had come and gone
Our cattle killed ere the break of dawn
Four days more our fowls got gored
An omen our way of life is no more
Our merchant ventures off
Offers double the crops
The King doth jest
As he pines for the rest
We don't really wanna have to go
Just to be a part of his clown show
We seek solitude for our own
Look how long we have lived with no throne
Plead with the King once more time
He covets our ale and crowns it divine
At the village, we gather hemlock for his brew
Our one last hope, we pray it true
His seal we scorch on the barrels side
And load our wagons a final time
The King leaps with glee, A barrel, for me?
Commands a guard Fetch a stein, immediately
A final bid, ere you depart
An Italian wine, for toiling hard
Welcome to my kingdom, your choice was wise
A beauteous beginning, a new season's arise
We retreat
Back to be
With family
Til we see
Smoke billows from the city
A castle ablaze never looked so pretty
We drift into dreams through the clamor
Finally free from the king's burning banner
At dawn steeds storm into town
Legions of torches and arrows rain down
The screams seared in my memory's shroud
I scarcely slipped away from the crowd
I don't want to have to say goodbye
I did not mean for us to all die
I cannot resist holding on
But I have to fight for a new dawn
The emerald sky erupts rain and light
Drowns the ashes all throughout the night
Spotted someone near a fallen tree
We jointly walk together towards the cold sea
