At a post office in Portland
Just an ordinary day
I went out to pick up my package
Then ran into the arms of fate
There he stood with his letter
From Mexican Water, Arizona
Never had I seen such blue eyes
Or such a cool Salvador Dali persona
I'll just skip the part where I tell you
That he asked me out for coffee
And just say that we're in love
Pretty soon we're getting married
In that little town in Arizona
On our first date I was nervous
The caterpillar inside of me cocooned
Waiting to burst into a monarch
As the soul inside me bloomed
He told me stories about his passions
And how he missed the heat
All the while I was doodling hearts
On a crumpled up receipt
I'll just skip the part where I tell you
That he never asked me for a second date
But pretty soon we're getting married
In that little town in Arizona State
So I never got a phone call
But I'm not a girl to wait
So I looked up his name in the phone book
And Google Maps where he stayed
Then I hung up all his pictures
In multiple-coloured frames
Right above my bedside
So I could see his moustached face
Apparently it's inappropriate
To just go in to someone's home
Even though you know they love you too
And just maybe lost their phone
I'll just skip the part where I tell you
That I somehow ended up in court
Tried to tell them he loved me the same
But just had some confusions of sorts
Maybe he just needed time
But I'm not a girl to wait
So now I'm sitting behind bars
In Arizona State.
